Are they going to tax bullets as in the projectile or the completed assembly ?

I mean no one runs out and starts making their own in a crime of passion right ?

If I was going to commit a crime or go on a shooting rampage I would be deterred by a tax on bullets

there is proposed legislation to eliminate online ammo sales (well, i think technically all it does is make you buy ammo from a licensed dealer, like needing to go through an FFL for online gun sales now). no more buying ammo at old hardware stores, country stores, etc.

i think there was also something about recording/reporting ammo sales over X number of rounds.

yes, all things that will prevent nutjobs from shooting up schools

after hearing all the hoopla about ammo sales, i was pretty surprised by the selection at my local walmart on friday. i just needed a couple boxes of .380, but the cases were fairly full with a good selection of calibers, and of course they havent jacked up the prices.

That's because those are the calibers Satan tells you to buy when he wants a herd of kids with Down Syndrome wiped out.

380 on the other hand is for old womens' knuckledusters.

And shotgun shells are for hillbillies.

Found this on another forum I use and it was titled North Carolina Publishes Gun Owner Map and I had to share it.

For those interested here is a link to the other forum, I know some of you have already joined.

Greensboro Police Department starting a "safe surrender" program.

I know some folks that are setting up at the 3 collection agencies with an FFL at each site doing a buy back. They're also making sure to be within local/state loitering laws.

Paying folks cash for legal guns... Going through all the same steps as any gunstore.

Good for them! I seriously doubt any gangbanger is gonna walk buy one of these programs and have a sudden change of heart... Pull a grinch and turn in all their shit.

Fucking pathetic.

dunno if its legit but some article about gun and ammo registration protection hidden within obamacare is making its rounds on my facebook.

hard to take it seriously since my friends are focusing on the "haha maybe nancy pelosi should have read it before passing it, etc."

on the other hand the claim is harry reid added it himself to keep the NRA out of negotiations. they were afraid premiums would be unfairly raised on gun owners, or something.

*shrug*

figured it was worth your investigation. merry christmas if true.

on the other hand congress is fond of writing laws to undo recently written laws as of late.

Interesting take on what Obama can actually do with an executive for guns...which basically amounts to nothing.

Form letter response from Kay Hagan (D)

Quote :
"In the wake of the shooting in Newtown, which left twenty-six innocent members of the community dead, many of them young children, Americans across the country are searching for answers on how we can prevent such tragic events from happening in the future. I believe we must do all we can to put laws and policies in place to prevent future tragedies such as this one. Doing that will require a common-sense debate on a comprehensive approach that examines all relevant issues, including access to firearms, mental healthcare, and the prevalence of violence in video games and media. Additionally, Senator Feinstein has stated her intent to introduce legislation concerning access to firearms at the start of the 113th Congress. To date, that legislation has not been introduced. As always, it is important that we not unnecessarily infringe on the legitimate Second Amendment rights of responsible gun owners.

Like you, I have always been an advocate for Second Amendment rights. My family, like the great state of North Carolina, has a long tradition of hunting and gun ownership, and I take great pride in that heritage. During my tenure in the North Carolina Senate I continuously supported the responsible use of firearms. As your United States Senator, I will always be committed to protecting these fundamental, constitutional rights."

"In perhaps the series' most grittiest episode, Laura has a harrowing experience at school. A female gang robs her of her jacket at gunpoint, then is told she can expect to be shot if she reports the crime. Laura is scared for her life and wants to buy a gun to defend herself. Urkel begs her to reconsider, but Laura insists she would feel safer with a gun. During a meeting with a gun salesman at school, gunfire breaks out. One of Laura's friends is harassed by the same gang that terrorized her earlier, and when she wouldn't give up a new pair of expensive sneakers, has been seriously wounded. Carl later catches the gangsters, then tells Harriette that violence only begets more. Urkel decides to do the right thing: Set up a gun-buyback drive to stop the violence."
