I wonder why I hardly have any desire to own movies on DVD but I enjoy owning DVDs for TV series I love (though that list isn't extremely long). My only guess is that great movies have a way of sucking you in the first time that is hard to replicate on later viewings and makes it less desirable to have the DVD sitting on your shelf that you'll watch once a year.
