Short version:
I'm sick. Comp screen is broken. These things make studying for Comps difficult (They're scheduled for next week). The in-laws are unhappy with me for both visiting them too much, and not enough. And student health is closed the one time I ever needed it during my 2 years of grad school because they aren't a real doctors office, and close for several weeks during the holidays more than a regular office would. And the meds I'm taking to get better have side effects that are just as bad as the symptoms of being sick.

Long version:
This is the sickest I've been in several years, and its while I'm trying to study for Comprehensive Exams to pass my masters program. I can't stop coughing, having fevers, having a sore throat, blowing my nose, and all that. In fact a coughed my computer right out of my lap and into the floor. It landed on a fleece coat I had been wearing earlier to stay warm since being sick is making me feel like I'm freezing. That short fall onto something soft broke half the screen. I've dropped this computer in much harder ways before with no problems, but now I'm venting out of half a screen which is all I have left. As if studying while sick wasn't difficult enough, now I'm doing it on half a screen, on a computer that has now decided it can't download anything from my e-mail where I had some of my study guides.

Not to mention the antibiotics are destroying my stomach. The antibiotics that were prescribed to me from a doctor in town, because the school plan I had been paying into for the last year and a half that gets me cheaper office visits at student health, is no good the one time I need to use it, because they close for several weeks for the holidays rather than a day or two like a real facility. The nose bleeds aren't helping either

And I think in-laws are unhappy with me for not making the trip to visit for a few nights this holiday season (I've already seen them twice during the holidays though) and had warned them with studying for Comps I wont be seeing them or my side of the family as much this holiday season. Add to that they don't want me coming down because I'm sick and and my mother in law has a heart condition where she is supposed to stay on antibiotics for a while after being exposed to anyone sick, which I guess she was since I was sick when I saw them on Christmas eve. Can't win staying or going.

I'm sure I'm blowing this all out proportion, but right now I'm having a bad day.
