While I used to agree with that statement 100% I found out recently that it was my generic birth control that caused me to develop pseudo-Cushings whic contributed to weight gain (roughly 20 pounds over 2 years no matter how healthy I ate or how much I worked out). While rare, it can definitely happen. (now I'm back on name brand and feeling great. Screw you generic )

Funny you mention Yasmin. That's the name brand I just went back on. I was on it for 7 years with no problems. My body is finally bouncing back and I feel great. The only reason I switched originally was because of price. But now to me, the extra cost is TOTALLY worth it.

I switched to Ocella almost 3 years ago and that's when the weight gain started. Too bad it took almost 3 years to link the two together. Ocella was recently handed over to another subsidiary and they reformatted the drug as Zarrah. Holy insomnia and weird breakouts (like IN my eyebrows).

The people who legitimately gain weight caused by their BC <<<<<< the number who gain weight because of eating more/exercising less/getting older and blame it on the pills. The person I quoted was clearly one of the latter. That's all I meant. Some people do gain because of it, yes, but BC is far from the evil that everyone says. It just makes an easy scapegoat for a lot of women. Glad you found out it was causing you troubles though.
