Why yes Mr. Kettle, you are quite black.
If youve actually met me, the last thing you would think is "scene". I think the scene sucks, and I stay out. I wouldnt even be having this argument if it wasnt for you people getting in such a tizzy over this. I'm just gonna troll from here on out, carry on.6/5/2005 6:54:00 PM |

I have said my two cents, and I believe that this thread has started to turn in the right direction with some constructive criticisms and suggestions as far as bands that would like to be seen at The Brewery in the future.
As far as the scene you are referring to, I am unsure as to what you associate yourself with because there is a large musical diversity in the Raleigh area. Every scene has trends, and that is what you have to stay away from.6/5/2005 7:20:12 PM |

yeah well trust me , the scene you have going on at your precious brewery is like a high school nu-punker's wet dream. Your average age at that place has to be in the teens. How the shit does your bar make any money?
I know one thing, and thats that Habib over at College Beverage loves your asses for selling out droves of energy drinks and safety pins

meh i saw 12 Stones play there and I unfortunately missed a Ra show once and its always cool to see Blatant Disarray (are they still kicking) so theBrewery is what it is a small joint for small bands and the occasional wayward major record label signee. Besides at least its not another pizza place on Hills 6/13/2005 4:17:25 AM |

Wow... get the monkies off your fuckin shoulders... The Brewery does a damned good job I think... Whoever thinks there's no diversity in the bands that play there has obviously never been there... If bands of a certain genre are getting booked more often than others, then it's just a sign of the times and what's "cool" right now... That's my opinion... What do ya'll expect out of it? Take off hosers...

I really hope to Brewery gets back to where it was when I was in high school in Raleigh and at NC State. I was crushed when I heard it closed down a year or so ago before I left NC... The best shows I ever saw were at the Brewery-
The North Mississippi Allstars in 2000 and beyond.
Burgeon from 1998-2000.
I haven't been to a show there since 2003. I have a lot of fond memories of that place. Agents of Good Roots, Galactic, Chatham County Line, Two Dollar Pistols, SPITTLE Fest.

brewery, can we schedule a show soon? (the capulets) we are interested in doing a free show and printing up hundreds of flyers. i am confident we could pack it. also, i have given our demo to 88.1 and they have agreed to put it on the local show. anyways, we are trying to start a buzz here and we need a place to play. our contact info is on our website

The Capulets have a decent sound, i dig it
but the website is pretty lame as far as the groaning attempts at comedy for the bios.
fix those, take yourselves just a tad more serious, and you'll be good. 8/1/2005 1:30:52 AM |

true
but only to a certain extent, and then you become caricatures of rock bands, a la' Tenacious D
if that's what you're going for, then it needs to be reflected in your songs
if its not, then you need to change the website
thats all i'm sayin 8/1/2005 1:55:13 AM |
