Only 10% of the population is black. Less than a third of that number went to college. Thats about 3% you're competing against. Couple that with the fact that racial quota's have been illegal for over 20 years.

I would like to point out, that all grants and scholarships distributed by the government are based upon need. Private scholarships, maybe associated with certain attributes, but the finacial aid made available by FAFSA has nothing at all to do with race.

Uh, I am a classic case of there being no racial bias in financial need. I am the whitest they come, and the office of scholarships and financial aid has never let me go a semester without covering at least my tuition. I don't claim to represent every case, but they've done me no wrong.
