Actually its 11.07 on the 1/4. http://www.sunley.ca/cwv65-5.gif Remember, this was from 83 or so. dont fuck with the magnas. Someone used to make belt driven superchargers for them. The 750s were just a step slower.

[Edited on July 30, 2005 at 5:01 PM. Reason : sabers are hot too, but not as rider friendly due to a higher center of gravity.]

i've always wanted to build a custom V-max...

but there's a lot of other stuff higher on the priority list

1. S2000
2. motorcycle
3. jet ski
4. gps
5. valentine 1
6. accumulating flight time
7. guns
8. skiing/traveling
9. Roth IRA

also wanna get back into guitar/saxophone and get my skills back up to speed, then do some home recording again...and i'm gonna go get SCUBA certified in a couple of weeks.

nah, one publication ran a high 10 sec. pass with one (10.92 i think?). there were several solid deep 11 sec. runs and another high 10 sec. run. google it up some more, i can't remember who it was. either way, that's damn impressive for an early 80's bike that weighs ~150lbs. more than a modern 600 streetbike yet puts out competetive acceleration numbers.

speaking of bikes, i've seen some bad ass ones of all makes in atlantic city today. i guess yankees know how to do at least one thing right...

The new 2006 Harley FXDBI Street Bob. Opinions?

I'm thinking about getting one. Although I would probably ditch the solo seat and maybe put on drag bars.

it's a nice start. different bars, solid the rear, ditch the front fender, trim the rear, clean up the signals and i'd rock it. i prefer a bobber over a chopper generally.

Put a deposit on one today. Should be here 9/5.

I checked and they also have a separate pad that mounts behind the solo seat and apparently looks pretty good, so I'll be doing that instead of dropping $300+ on a whole new seat. Now I just need to pick out some pegs for the back.

Vance Hines crossover pipes in the near future.

Bobbers were the style after WWII. A lot of guys bought surplus army Harleys and bobbed the fenders to lower the weight and help the looks. They also accessorized to a degree, but not as much as was done in the '60s. The bobber is what preceded the chopper.

sob. its suppose to rain the next two days

and before you bash me for being a fair weather rider, I would prefer to get a few months under my belt before taking on rough conditions as well

damn the rain. got caught out in it and got soaked. not to mention my grandma got behind me somewhere and followed me half way home. I was expecting a good talk when I got home but she actually said I looked good out there

^ yeah the hawk is way clean. i can vouch for reliability, my '88 had 35k on it before it was raced for a few years in WERA and i've put a good 10k if not more of road/parking lot miles on it since i've had it. i'd be abusing the fuck out of it, too, and the thing just won't quit. the only thing it ever had done is fluid flushes and fresh spark plugs.
it's no rocket but it will make you soil your pants if you open it up too quick in first. it draws more attention than my buddys' gixxers and cbrs, too

man, i would love to have that as a track bike. sharp looking hawk, although i think it would look better with a black seat (or maybe something like a red seat). other than that, it's a good looking street-fighter style Hawk.
