Best comic book of all time would definately be the Kingdom Come series, and all Death mini-series.
As for the comic that I always read and always enjoyed, X-Force. 7/28/2005 9:36:50 AM |

the wolverine claws storyline was pretty cool, but i think they ruined when Wolverine devolved into basically a primate. The artwork on him changed, and really he just became an annoying character with little to add to the stories. Then his clawbone broke, and all that happens... yadda yadda yadda... we have normal wolverine back again.
strange. 7/28/2005 10:35:48 AM |

Dark voctory and Long Halloween were both good books. The latter two. Please no one gives a fuck about how the joker got all fucked up and Ra's Al Ghul and his sluttly little daughter are the worst characters ever.
Batman the cult, is by far the most graphic of all the batman "series." This comic book is much different from the kiddie shit we grew up with. If you read it you would know, and if you can't recognize the talent in the artwork and plot, stick to the saturday morning cartoons.7/29/2005 4:51:00 PM |

if you mean Batman as a Wolverine rip-off, with barrel chest and all, then sure, s'great.
but then again, i hate frank miller's concept of batman. 7/29/2005 4:53:03 PM |

No real Batman fan would ever say he didn't care about the Joker. That character is absolutely fucking integral to the Batman mythos. I can't fault you for your opinion of Ra's al-Ghul and Talia, but don't call Talia slutty. She's been faithful to Batman.
Pre-Crisis, anyway.

None of the Batman comics I grew up with were "kiddie shit." The Batman of our generation is defined by some heavy stuff: Year One; The Dark Knight Returns; the death of Jason Todd; Batman's utter defeat and paralyzation at the hands of Bane; the list goes on and on. Even at the earliest, when I was reading Batman comics a few years before my time, it was still the weird Denny O'Neil Batman, the detective/scientist/athlete who might bring a murderer to justice in one issue only to face what seemed to be a creature out of myth in the next.
There's talent in the artwork and plot of The Cult, but being graphic doesn't automatically make it great or even good. That's a pretty juvenile approach to comics you've got. And I don't know if you've seen the Batman cartoons, but they're fucking fantastic.7/30/2005 10:04:19 AM |
