Well yeah, the point is that trampling it =/= disgracing dead soldiers.

It's because you post like none other in here and fucking bomb this shit with your pads. I can't help it that 50% of threads on this board have you as the last poster.

Because there's a big difference between destroying yer own stuff and destroying someone else's stuff.

flag burning != what happened here

also, the flag means lots of things

crosses for dead soldiers mean only one thing

So what exactly are you contributing with your posts?

Bottom line:

I make you look stupid a few times and now you're a full blown post stalker. Grow up, little buddy.

"Its pretty easy to do. When asked, how many anti-war people say that they oppose it because its a republican war? None, they all say that they're concerned about the Iraqi people and the American soldiers. But oddly enough, support for the war follows party lines pretty closely. Its compassion via politicas and I don't care for it."

OR, those people really are compassionate, and the republicans who are for the war are for it for political reasons. You ever think that could be possible? If it's noncompassion via politics, would you still not care for it? You gotta look at all possibilities in order to make sense when arguing.

the only way to know for sure is for us to have a liberal government very very soon who then starts a war in a similar situation, and see if the same people still oppose and support the war. That's not really possible, though, because I doubt we'll have another democrat in the white house before 2012 and I doubt there are alot of people, republican or democrat, who would start a war like this one without caring about the consequences the way the bush whitehouse has.

provide evidence for greenpeace wrecking their ships into the navy. Also, there are many cases a year of the navy ignoring other vessels and striking them. I can think of the USS JFK right now that hit I believe 3 ships going into dock.

HOWEVER, THAT'S NOT TRUE IN AMERICA, WHERE THERE ARE TWO ABSOLUTELY DIAMETRICALLY OPPOSED VIEWPOINTS AND ONLY TWO ABSOLUTELY DIAMETRICALLY VIEWPOINTS AND NEVER THE TWAIN SHALL MEET

How the hell do white painted sticks stuck in the dirt add up to over $1,500?

Maybe to you. But i seem to recall the original poster's intent was that FLAG BURNING IS THE SAME AS WHAT HAPPENED HERE TO SOME SOLDIERS. i apologize for having to spell out what was literally said by someone else...

Why would Greenpeace attack the US navy? I know they've attacked whaling vessels, but I don't see them ramming a destroyer.

^ I'd like to see those pictures. Not that I don't believe you; I wouldn't call you a liar, especially about something like that. It's just that everyone who's ever said anything to me about nam vets being spat on has been telling me about someone they knew. It was never someone who actually was spat upon themselves. Also, I've never seen pictures, so I'm curious.

As for the greenpeace incident, this is the closest thing I can see to the charge being made against them:

Quote :
"In 2002 Greenpeace organised a protest against the US importation of over $10 million worth of Brazilian mahogany after the Brazilian government had placed a moratorium on mahogany exports. On April 12, 2002, two Greenpeace activists boarded the ship carrying the mahogany, the APL Jade, to hang up a banner reading "President Bush, Stop Illegal Logging". The two activists were arrested, along with four others assisting them; after pleading guilty to misdemeanour charges, they were sentenced to "time served" (a weekend in jail).[3]

On July 18, 2003, the US Government's Justice Department used the incident to charge the entire Greenpeace organisation under an obscure 1872 law against "sailormongering", which had last been used in 1890.[4] Invocation of this law to prosecute peaceful protesters generated worldwide protest. Those criticising the prosecution included Al Gore, Senator Patrick Leahy, the NAACP, the ACLU of Florida and People for the American Way. The Department later rearranged Greenpeace on a revised indictment at the federal courthouse in Miami on November 14, 2003, dropping the claim that Greenpeace had inaccurately asserted the presence of contraband mahogany on the boarded ship.

On May 16, 2004, Judge Adalberto Jordan ruled in favour of Greenpeace and found that "the indictment is a rare – and maybe unprecedented – prosecution of an advocacy group" for free speech-related conduct."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greenpeace#Rainbow_Warrior_and_French_bombing

According to that, they never rammed anything, and every action was nonviolent direct action. I see no other evidence of anything else.

again, please prove this. So far, I've heard only conjecture about the reasoning behind anti-war protests, and it's completely untrue that they're all just political, since many liberals protested the kosovo bombings. The idea that liberals only protest wars started by republicans is COMPLETELY false. Perhaps some of them do; I would never doubt that a politically motivated war protest has happened and will happen again. However, I don't think that most people who put up grave markers for fallen soldiers to point out that the war is killing people for no good reason are only doign it to say "omg republicans baaaaaaad!"

ummmm.... nuclear power maybe?

IIRC, the Rainbow Warrior incident was actually carried out by elements of the French gov't to make GP look bad. A bit salisburyboy-ish, if you ask me

but seriously, I'm gonna laugh my head off if it turns out that this display of crosses was on the land of someone who said "get this shit out of here!" but the stupid cunt said "OMFG YOU ARE REPRESSING MY FREEDOMS!!!" so he just said "fuck it." Then the dude went and bitched about it to some people and the realtor guy got pissed off and drove over their desecration of US war-dead.
