yes it has

The woman in australia said her husband heard them on some mission where he was listening for radio signals in the area that we now know the survivors are.

And in the same episode Hurly asked the french chick where she got the numbers, and she said that the radio antenna near The Blackrock was transmitting them and her ship came to investigate.

She later changed the message to the one the surviors pick up in Pilot Part 2.

is if the song is

"YOU ARE EVERYBODY"

or

"YOU ALL EVERYBODY"

because i just can't tell
and i don't like closed captions or subtitles

They explain why its named that in the extra features on the DVD.

There is NO way this is all coincidence. If it is, there is absolutely no story.

Obviously the numbers on the hatch are related to the transmission, which we now know relates to hurly's lottery numbers, but the whole unlucky thing could still be a coincidence. As could the numbers seeming to show up everywhere.

Obviously the writers put those numbers in the script, but they could still just be explained as "if you look for the numbers you'll find them everywhere."

well they match the seat numbers on the plane and they are integral to hurley's even being on the plane. I dont buy coincidence. They spent way too much time on the unlucky thing.

yea i think so. they'll be showing an hour long episode before the premiere that'll be a lot of flashbacks and summary. i dont know if its going to be that review episode from last season or not, but i dont think it'll have anything new.

oh yeah i forgot about the guy hearing the numbers on the transmission and coming to australia to investigate..
so did anything happen to him before he went loony? did he find out what the numbers meant?

and hurley, french woman, and the crazy guy in australia are the only ones who know about the numbers right? I don't think hurley told anyone..i can't remember

yes

turns out whoever engraved those numbers on that hatch was predicting the crash of flight 817 and knew what rows all the main characters would be sitting in.

LOST via dvd is great.

LOST via 22 episodes over 7+ months = shitty

mainly because of:

Quote :
"There is NO way this is all coincidence. If it is, there is absolutely no story."

this is my main gripe with the show. there's so much info, so many hints, so many different levels of interest...but they take too long to string them all together. By doing this they leave me both interested and disinterested at the same time because I really want to know but I don't want to wait forever. the season finale to me was disapointing because nothing of interest was resolved and even more interesting and convoluted tidbits were brought to the surface.

so what if they opened the hatch, that's not what's important. what's important is what's in the hatch. it was so boring and disappointing to have the final shot be a very slow zoom out into the hatch as they look down it. to have been a good season finale they would have had to shown something inside it. ever since they first showed the hatch we wanted to know what was in it. some clue, some hint, some small example of what was in there would have made it infinitely times better than it was for it would have at least sparked a new direction of thought, speculation and discussion.

and the raft, don't even get me started on the raft. I've watched too much tv to believe that the episode before that they would get off the island safe and sound. did i know walt was gonna be taken? no, but i knew something opposite to the happy send off they gave the raft was gona happen.

Watching episodes back to back if you have the dvds compensates for the "waiting." I bet the dvds are great. Part of me wants to get them so i can enjoy the show, but part of me doesn't want to get fed up again wasting time learning unexciting tidbits about the castaways that are unimportant to the bigger picture.

If they continue to follow the same formula it's gonna hurt the show and people are gonna get fed up with it if they dont' start putting things together in a more timely manner.

I like the way the show is. I like speculating and not knowing what is going to happen next.
I knew something would happen to the people on the raft...but i never thought it would be some hillbilly guys on a boat coming up and taking the boy.
also, not knowing what is in the hatch kinda makes it better than knowing. It leaves it open for speculation. For all we know, Hurley could be right and it could be a bunch of twinkies haha.
We did see there is a ladder leading down.... so it was meant in some point in time for someone to go into it or out of it.

overly open speculation with no set of boundaries and totally being left in the dark is dumb and pointless and is not a plot device you should use to keep people hooked. speculation implies that you have some sort of general idea where things could go and they gave us absolutely nothing. it was--OMG LOOK AT US WE OPENED A DOOR!!!-the end

a ladder? that's about the equivalent of opening a a bag of potato chips and realizing that there are actually potato chips in the bag of potato chips...

i dont mind cause i get the feeling if they answered some of these questions, there's not much direction left for the show, so i'd rather em pace themselves, even if it means things going unanswered for a while. i say that now, but if it gets to be season 4 and we are just as clueless, then things have to change

I can't remember 2 things from last season:
1. Did they ever show/tell how Locke became paralyzed from the waist down?

2. What exactly did Kate do to be hunted by the law? I remember the robbing the bank thing... But wasn't she just trying to get the plane?
And I remember that she got her childhood friend killed by running from the law or something.... was that before or after she hid out in australia at the farmer's house?
I just don't know the timeline of all that...
So what happened and in what order?

1. No
2. Was already running from the law. Got her friend killed, robbed the bank with her chico to get the plane and then hid in the farmer's barn.

i know it was discussed in the original thread at some point, but i dont know if it was ever confirmed. when boone is in the plane and is talking on the radio to someone, the other person definitely says "we are the survivors of flight 815"...i turned subtitles on while watchin that one on the dvd just now to check that. so, not really sure if this is news to anyone, but i know i wasnt sure whether he sayd we are the survivors or there were no survivors

^^They probably left the subtitles out..it was clear that they didn't want to make it very obvious that he said that, but he said something in return the what boone was saying and it was very clear if you listened to it with the volume way up....i know i heard it

My opinion is, if it was such a main point in the storyline, they wouldn't have made it so difficult to hear/figure out.. but we'll never know b/c the only person who heard it is dead

i think it was the people from the tail section. and thats not going to be a clue that leads to them finding them or anything, its just one of those things that make the viewer think there's someone else on the island.

I've got a downloaded copy of the episode when it first aired (it was sitting on my computer within 3 days of the airing), and I compared that to the clip played in that clips episode.

It was exactly the same.

I guess we still don't know how Hurley first met Leonard (the guy in the mental hospital) either...
he just goes to him after he has the thought that the numbers may have been cursed....
we don't know how he met leonard or got the numbers originally

EnderJRD, thanks for starting a new thread...seriously, it was time to let the old one die and start a new one for the new season...plus the title was just fucking stupid, especially since the time is inaccurate now (why mods never correct thread titles I have no clue)
