Seriously though, what continues to piss me off about game consoles is that they invent a new one before anyone has ever maxed out the old one. 9/19/2005 9:02:44 AM |

Well, it was damn sure time for a new Playstation, and XBox is starting to look old.
If one or two of the three companies come out with a new system, and the other one or two don't do the same within a year, the ones that don't will be fucked. 9/19/2005 9:13:50 AM |

all the systems are about at their max ... God of War proved that PS2 has been maxed out
I'm not sure which game has shown X-Box to be at its max - perhaps Morrowind? (I don't own, so no idea)
I'm a huge fan of Gamecube, but we all know that its been maxed for a while 9/19/2005 10:09:45 AM |

I haven't hit a game that was maxed out on one of these controllers yet.

I don't think any system has been maxed out. Gamecube is close (but not there) with Resident Evil 4. When RE4 goes to PS2 the load times will be long and the game won't look as good so that may be its max. Xbox still has room plenty of room. 9/19/2005 3:13:20 PM |

intuition.
but look, obviously there's going to be very incremental improvements that people could squeeze out of the systems, but by and large, next-gen hardware is necessary to see significant improvements in gaming 9/19/2005 3:26:15 PM |
