Hey zxappeal,

How much will you charge for a whole conversion project? This is what I want to do in the near future:

http://www.speedtoys.com/%7Estryder/conversion.html

My old supra is dead, sitting at home in Nebo, NC (near asheville). I have about $3000-$4000 to spend on parts & labor ... read the conversion article, and let me know...

You must really like the car. I'd be tempted to try and find a turbo car rather than go through all that...unless they are commanding high dollar.

Yeah, I'd do this job, but it wouldn't be really cheap. PM for more info if you're REALLY interested in doing this.

I was just wondering...

This car is my "first love" ... First car I've ever driven ... I just feel sad seeing it sitting there in the back yard

I'll PM you if I decide to go through with it... thanks

I can look at it, not sure what good I can do. I know a lot about exhaust systems, but I don't have a welder, apipe bender, or an oxy-acetylene torch...three tools that are damn near essential for doing good exhaust work.

For that, go to Henry's off of Capital Blvd (waaayyy inside the beltline) or off of Millbrook.

Or Bob's in Garner.

are you good at finding an electrical short? The main fuse that controls radio, power locks, interier lights keeps blowing in my protege.

I'm not bad with electrical stuff. The big deal is getting the right wiring schematic...tracing stuff down without it isn't impossible, but it takes time.

hey, I'm posting under my girlfriends name but still have a question... my clutch went out in my 2003 s-10, wondering if you can find a cheap one and about how much labor would be to have it put in. the reason I'm only looking for a cheap one is because I plan on selling it soon anyway... thanks

Thirty dolla plus the cost of the pads if that's all it needs. Do you have any shuddering or pulsation when you hit the brakes?

my car took a massive shit. leaks a lot of oil and something is messed up with the cv joint, that causes a massive grinding sound when driving, if i put the clutch back in the sound goes away. needless to say i havent been driving it. im going to take a look at it with my dad this weekend if we can fix it... ill need ur help.

any ideas? pretty sure it's something to do with the cv joint.

Sounds like something other than the CV shaft to me. Sounds like a bearing in the tranny is shot...or worse.

Let me know what you wanna do.

^^He already has his code. It's for the secondary air injection system on his S2k. It literally runs for about 8 seconds on startup.

I did his clutch and I had to disconnect a couple of vacuum lines. Ten bucks says I crossed 'em. The ones I had to fuck with are for the secondary AIS.

i'll pay you for your time if you can figure out what the FUCK rattles in my engine/exhaust at a certain rev range and on some shifts. it sounds like a heat shield; i'm really hopin its not a crack in the exhaust somewhere. PM sent, btw.

ahhhhh dan i bet i know the deal. its the cat warmers?? my friend had the same prob after he installed his supercharger. our prob was that one of the lines was just not on all the way.

hell, brian im sure you can just peek under there in your spare time and find a hose that is not connected. ill see if i can get the hose diagram to see if anything is crossed... unless you've got a helms.

or i could just check tomorrow at work if i can remember.

You buy the parts, I supply the labor. And I'll charge about $150 to put it in. It might be extra if your flywheel needs surfacing. But I don't surface 'em unless they are warped or scored heavily.

how much would you charge to simply take the window crank off of two doors and put them back on again?

obviously, i have a manual window and i can't the damn things off to put in my speakers...crutchfield SAYS the cranks are easy to get off, but i suspect they're liars

Depends on the car you have. Quite a few of them are absolute cake. But not if you don't know where to start.

Like learning a dance. Once you get the steps down pat, you're golden. Until then, shit's hard.

But yeah, I can do it, and it wouldn't be much...ten or fifteen dolla if it's one I'm familiar with.
