You do not have to pay for parking if you park at the fairgrounds. Well worth walking a little extra to save $7. 11/3/2005 6:07:23 PM |

^ True story. Just FYI, they won't let you park at the fairgrounds the night before a football game any closer to C-F than the big tree on Trinity. How that makes sense when all the hockey traffic is gone at 10 PM, I'll never know. 11/3/2005 6:09:17 PM |

great game. Paying 10 dollars for a ticket and getting to come down to the lower level in the second period is an unbeatable deal.
Canes played so much harder than the leafs and it was good to see then get another win.

The Leafs are slow and lazy. Canes played all right, but not anywhere near what they can do. Would've been 5/6-3 without the Eagle. 11/3/2005 10:59:41 PM |

Yeah he really made some great saves tonight. Ward had a couple great ones as well. 11/3/2005 11:00:53 PM |

was an excellent game and the canes won based on heart and simply playing hard and not giving up. However, they looked sloppy. passing wasn't what I'd expect and they made some bad mistakes that hurt them. They also seem to be very disoriented whenever they begin a period or come out of a power play. Could be very dangerous if the canes lose their scoring machine Staal. Goalkeeping also looked poor. Ward had some damn fine saves but he often looked like he couldn't find the puck. very dangerous.
leafs looked good but they just didn't play with the same heart. their goalie saved their asses from a major blowout. if the canes passing game was equal to the leaf's, it would have been a blowout.
this being my first hockey game of the season (been too buisy with class) I was worried about the rule changes but overall I liked it. less hitting was kind of boring in the first period but on the other hand there wasn't a constant shoving match in the boards over pucks. it was a faster and smoother game. definatly approve so far and definatly going to have to get more tickets. especially now that I know about the $10 seats. 11/4/2005 1:20:41 AM |

It's hard to find the puck sometimes through three screeners. Only the second goal was poor, as Ward went down far too early and went into redundant coverage (paddle down) at the same time. The first goal was a big screen and the third was a result of a pair of simultaneous missed assignments. Cam Ward sees the puck as well as any goaltender in the league.11/4/2005 1:36:16 AM |
