I just found out that as an employee of the school system I can buy a customizable Dell for a discount. I'm gonna look into this further, I don't know the details but early indications are w00t.

wow!! CC is shitting on everyone's deals. they've got a Toshiba laptop for $199!! Celeron w/512mb, 60gb hard drive, etc...

odd, the page is saying $449.99 for that laptop, but i thought it said 199 just a few minutes ago, and the scan says 199 too.

i find it very hard to believe they would let that laptop go for 199. don't count on it.

to get it for 199, you have to sign up for a year of aol... if you dont want to do that, its still only 449

If you had a laptop with a 6 cell LION battery and a 1.4 processor, approx. how long would it run basic surfing and shit? How long would it run a DVD?

I'm just looking for ballpark figures, or a way to calculate it myself with different batteries and applications.

probably about 3 hours of "normal" use

I wouldn't expect to get through a whole DVD though.

i get about 2 hours on this 1.6ghz centrino laptop... but i also have the screen on bright and all the power saving stuff turned off
