Missed the second, foul on Fells (his 5th) during the rebound.

the squad looked solid tonight, here's wat i noticed that needs to change:

1. cedric simmons needs to play with a little more ferocity. he needs to WANT the ball and when he gets it, he should be relishing the fact to dunk the ball with some force. look at brackman for example, he gets it in a position to throw down, he not only thros down, he does it with some authority. rebounding is the same thing. ced needs to go get the damn ball and stop playin so nice. i dont know wat needs to be done, but get this man pissed off and see wat happens.

2. gavin grant needs to stop dribblin the damn ball so much.

good things i noticed:

1. ben mcCauley. he knows how to go up strong and finish. didnt get a chance to see him shoot it much tonight, but from foul shots, wat i saw last game and the red/white game, he's got a good stroke as well. should be a very solid player.

2. brandon costner's shot. it may just be that he shoots lefty, but it looks so pretty and great arc.

3. two metal detectors for the students entrance. big difference from last week.

ho hum game.

Gavin grant needs to dribble the ball more. He is our number 1 penetrator, and he needs to be comfortable in the role. He also needs practice finding the open man when he draws help.

I'm not sure cedric even knew where he was.

Brack was MIA.

I liked mccauleys desire to play the post. All our other post guys seem like pussies. Mccauley, however, got away with stuff in this game he wouldnt get away with against real players.

Atsur is solid.

Ev was ok, but didn't see him too much. Evitmov: you are a senior! a big guy dribbling when a small guy is guarding is an automatic turnover. DONT DO IT

Fells had a tough game. didn't get into a rhythm. I like his effort on defense, but he is clearly not as productive a defender as the upperclassmen. With time, he will be great.

Costner was ok. Finally saw that stroke. Made some good passes, but I can't see him being too productive as he is right now against real competition.

Lastly, bennerman: he remembered he can score. Did pretty good in first half. Sucked donkey balls in the second half when they tried to make him run point. If bennerman has the ball for more than 1 second, there is a 50% we will turn the ball over. He simply doesn't have the court vision or basket ball sense to be a ball handler. He got his points in the first half my working off the ball and getting to good scoring positions. This needs to be his role.

Bennerman dribbling or passing = cue the benny hill music. I thought his defense was the best, though. Lots of deflections.

Yes, those people were idiots. We sat behind their bench and had a great time heckling, til half their team fouled out. We even had some relatives of one of their coaches leave because we were yelling too loud.

omg. like did anyone hear that nuts and bolts chant or see the guy piss off one of the male cheerleaders. And the guy was talking through the megaphone at the girl behind him. They seriously need to get some new chants though. The sign did make it on the screen but everyone was like what the fuck does that mean. It's amazing at how people who don't know anything about basketball go to the games. Girl behind us asks what's a FT, what's TOL. I guess she'd be the same one that asks where's that yellow line at the football games.

I think he is still nursing that groin injury from last season and hence isn't trying to overdue it before he has to.

nobody has difficult pre-season games unless they just play badly. they are meant as warmups, not as true tests

Yea I mean our opponents are so far ahead of us playing the likes of Fayetteville St. and Catawba (UNC) or Concordia (Duke).. Come on these are exhibition game that HAVE to be played against D-II teams...

^^^and in football we played acc vt first. there is no preseason. the 2 seasons before that we played ohio state early, and before that we were really good anyway so nothing like footballl.

and like the other guy said this is exhibition. you can only play d2 or canada teams. playing all star teams (ea sports) is illegal now. we play a decent ooc to wind out the year though.

I did, I LOLed. The old ppl were like WTF?

On another note, the NCSU team we all know and loved showed up last night even if it was an inferior opponent. McCauley may fit in our style of play better than I thought.

I have not seen anyone post it, but how sick was Brackman's block before the end of the half and Gavin making that shot at the buzzer?

Hope our frontcourt can draw fouls like that in the ACC--if we do, it should make a couple of games much easier.
