I think we will be in the old tire bowl. They love to have a NC team go. The other option is Clemson and we travel alot better than they do. So my prediction will be tire. 11/28/2005 10:09:45 AM |

According to the news last night, WRAL's "inside sources" said we are bound for the MPC Bowl.
AT least I think it was WRAL

there are not too many schools that travel better than clemson. I'm not saying they would sell more tickets than us, but to say that we would travel alot better is a reach..they roll deep.11/28/2005 10:36:31 AM |

We did travel better than Clemson to the Tangerine Bowl, albeit marginally better. Might be a good comparison for another so-so bowl game. 11/28/2005 10:43:43 AM |

the champs sports bowl is supposed to pick between clemson and B.C., the bowl reportedly wants clemson, which means that we should go to the cr care bowl, but the acc wants the champs bowl to pick boston college, which means the car care would pick clemson and we go to boise 11/28/2005 2:25:51 PM |

I wouldn't mind playing Minnesota in the Music City Bowl... I went to the Micron PC bowl a few years ago when we played Minnesota in Florida and Rivers came back to whoop them in the second half... No one was really there though... 11/28/2005 3:13:56 PM |

Quote : | ""Pack options expand Music City Bowl talks to N.C. State
NCSU's Lee Fowler awaits an invitation.
Lorenzo Perez, Staff Writer The Music City Bowl in Nashville, Tenn., emerged as another postseason possibility for N.C. State on Monday, joining the bowls in Boise, Idaho, and Charlotte as Wolfpack suitors. But State may not learn its destination this week as bowls await the outcome of Saturday's ACC Championship Game. Music City executive director Scott Ramsey called State athletics director Lee Fowler Monday to tell him the Pack (6-5, 3-5 ACC) is one of three ACC teams the bowl is considering.
The Dec. 30 bowl also is looking at Virginia (6-5, 3-5) and Georgia Tech (7-4, 5-3) to play a Big Ten opponent.
The Music City Bowl has a tie-in with the Southeastern Conference but the SEC has a shortage of teams eligible for bowl play. The Music City also begins a tie-in with the ACC next season.
"Winning four of its last five, we'd catch a team with a lot of momentum," Ramsey said of State in an interview. "Geographically, the western part of North Carolina is within 500 miles of Nashville, and there are direct flights out of Raleigh." The San Francisco-based Emerald Bowl -- another game with an at-large bid available for an ACC team -- also is considering State, Virginia and Georgia Tech, according to its executive director, Gary Cavalli.
But neither the Emerald or Music City will get priority to select an ACC team over six other bowls.
The Pack's list of bowl possibilities already included the Dec. 28 MPC Computers Bowl in Boise and the Dec. 31 Meineke Car Care Bowl in Charlotte.
Fowler, Ramsey, Cavalli and Will Webb, executive director of the Meineke Car Care Bowl, all said they did not expect State's bowl destination to be settled before the league title game between Virginia Tech and Florida State in Jacksonville, Fla., helps settle the pecking order.
Saturday's winner gets a Bowl Championship Series bid. The Gator Bowl gets the first pick among the seven other teams eligible for bowl play. The Gator Bowl is unlikely to select the loser of the ACC title game for a return trip to Jacksonville, Fla.
The Gator and the Peach Bowl in Atlanta get to select the teams they want, and then the Champs Sports Bowl in Orlando, the Meineke Car Care Bowl and the MPC Computers Bowl work out their teams with the conference.
"We were hoping there would be some definition at this point, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen," Webb said.
Fowler said he told staff to begin preparing, for logistical reasons, as if the Wolfpack would land at the MPC Computers Bowl.
"That's the one that will take the most work and most preparation with setting up charters, transportation and all that stuff," Fowler said. "" |

I know that I have no idea and it seems to change everyday. I think we have a better chance at going to Charlotte than Music City now.
I would so much rather play a Big 10 team than USF. I also really want to avoid Boise and Emerald at all costs. 11/29/2005 9:05:22 AM |

What makes you say that...almost everything I read sounds like Charlotte is the most likely. The only thing I hear different is in Boston papers that say Swafford is trying to puch BC to the Peach and push us down to Boise.11/29/2005 9:23:41 AM |

Nashville over Boise anyday. Even if it is unlikely, I would prefer the Music City to the MPC Computer Bowl. Never been to Boise and never intend to. Since I was born and raised in the Nashville area. I would love to go home to see the Pack at the Coliseum. I wouldn't mind showing some of ya around my hometown. But I want a Pack bowl win more than I want to go home, so if that means going to the MPC Computer Bowl or whereever, so be it. 12/3/2005 10:16:56 PM |

Why is Swofford pushing any particular team to any bowl? Outside of pushing the Music City Bowl to pick an ACC team over a team from some other conference, he shouldnt be pushing anyone and shouldnt care where each team goes if hes to be an unbiased commissioner. 12/3/2005 11:35:22 PM |
