The Chargers aren't getting it done this season. Their only decent wins are the Giants, @NE, and KC...they even had to go to overtime to beat the Redskins.
If Indy decides to keep playing the starters and aim for the record, there's no way SD will win on the road. 12/13/2005 3:20:47 PM |

San Diego Chargers (8-5) at Seattle Seahawks (11-2) Arizona Cardinals (4-9) Divisional Game at Indy Conference Championship at Indy* Super Bowl at Detroit*
Definitely not the Cards. I would say Seahawks in the regular season just due to the Colts not wanting to give away too much to a potential Super Bowl opponent, especially when they're on the road, although I don't think Seattle will make the Super Bowl.
There's just something about the words "Seattle" and "Super Bowl" that just make them not sound right in the same sentence.
If I was on a team and I had everything going right and I had nothing wrong with me, why disturb the rhythm and not play? Keep doing what you're doing, it's obviously working fine.

I dont care how good the chargers are. Give me justification for only giving Indy 6...if youre going to beat Indy...its got to be at least fairily high scoring 12/13/2005 7:37:52 PM |

dude the chargers are not going to beat indy on the road
they just got humiliated at home by the pathetic dolphins
when i was watching the game at the bar, everybody was furious because they realize their season pretty much just ended
not to mention LT is hurt 12/13/2005 7:49:57 PM |

LT is hurt?
my bad i meant colts 27, chargers 6
but seriosly dont be surprised if its the other way around. because sooner or later someone is gonna figure them out, and san diego has the explosiveness to put up some big points
case in point, they were the ones who knocked out the patriots first

The Pats are getting healthy. Sure, Peyton managed to beat the Patriot's second string a month ago. But let's see how they fare in the playoffs. 12/16/2005 11:29:34 PM |

The Pats won't beat the Colts in the playoffs.
This team is one of the best EVER. If they keep playing their starters and don't sustain any key injuries, they'll go undefeated. 12/17/2005 2:20:35 AM |

Maybe I am biased.... OK I am sure I am biased, but how is this Colts team any different than the Colts of the past few years?
Their offense is about the same with Manning at the helm throwing to Marvin Harrison, Brandon Stokely, Reggie Wayne, and Dallas Clark and Edgerrin James pounding the ball. I would argue that their offense is actually less effective than in the past considering they lost Marcus Pollard and they are not using Harrison nearly as much. Near the beginning of the year they actually were struggling, but they have really picked it up as of late. Regardless, I assume you would agree that their offense is pretty much the same give or take a couple linemen and role players.
Obviously, their defense is where they have stepped up their play. In the first 5 games of the season, they did not allow more than 10 points. However, since then, they have accomplished this feat only twice. Once against the Titans (enough said there) and again against the Steelers with Rothlisberger being quite hobbled. I am certainly not saying their defense is bad, because it is not. For one, Dwight Freeney is a monster, definitely one of the top 5 defensive threats in the league. It is much improved, but teams are beginning to expose them little by little. Last week against Jacksonville they showed a really bad potential achilles heal when the Jags went into their hurry-up offense and reeled off 2 quick TD's. St. Louis dominated them in the first quarter. They had virtually no answer for Cincinnati's offense all day. There are holes, and if anyone can find them, it's Bill Belichik.
I think the real reason for them looking like such a powerhouse is the dropoff in other teams, specifically the Pats. To me, the Colts look like pretty much the same team as in the past with a slightly improved defense. The Pats have been totally obliterated by injuries and free agency this year, as well as the loss of their 2 coordinators. They are finally getting healthy, but I don't know if it will be enough without Rodney Harrison, Charlie Weis, and Romeo Crennel. I think the Patriot's teams of the past two years would have easily defeated the '05 Colts. Keep in mind last year, everyone was all over the Colt's collective dick at the end of the season and in the playoffs. Indy was even favored in the playoff game at New England where the Pats nearly shut them out. People just love flashy, high-powered offenses like the Colts. But I wouldn't go as far as saying they are one of the best teams off all time. Like I said I don't think they could have beaten last years Pats. 12/17/2005 10:24:49 AM |

We won't have to hand it to him. He's going to take it.
Brady looks off today. They might want to rest him in the 4th quarter. 12/17/2005 3:15:56 PM |
