If the Texans end up with the #1, I think they are going to get a rediculous amount of deal thrown their way and they will be able to wheel and deal like none other, but I still think they will take Bush. They mainly only need Olineman, and they can probably pick up a solid guy in the 2nd or 3rd, and get someone in free agency or even consider trading D. Davis.
If the Texans get Bush and fix up their oline, they will be a contender for a while with Carr, Bush, Johnson, and they're young defensive players are going to get better. 12/15/2005 10:36:28 AM |

I don't care what the Texans do, but they have to get 3 solid O-Linemen, only one can be a rookie, they needs 2 Vets to come in and open a damn hole. DD can rip sum teams if he had just enough space to get his shoulder pads through. If they can draft Bush and keep him while getting some good OL then so be it, but that is unlikely. Very realistic if they get first pick, they trade the pick and get some OL...DD.
Jets gotta get a QB, point blank and I think they will go after Rivers how ever they can get them, I am not a Jets fan but with Cotchery and Rivers...I can be transform...they going to need a RB though, Curtis "My Favorite" Martin is probably over the hill and most likely will not take another season. Him and Priest should contemplate retirement...They are great RB's but their best days may be behind them, and for the Jets to get a New QB with their young talent, might as well get a new RB to build a dynasty contender.
Bush to small...what the fuck eva. How many times you hear about a RB being to small, to big, to slow...if you make consistent plays and make people miss, and break continuous 8,9, 10 plus yard runs every week, then you got skills. Sander, Sayers, Tomlison, Dunn, all small...all wrecking havoc...just to name a few. Yes he will need to get some bulk, but they will do that...he will not be the same weight his whole career in NFL, hell he may hit another inch and some pounds...so fuck the thought of him being to small..better question is if he can maintain his level against pro players rather than a weak Pac-10 and I am betting yes...there will be a learning curve, but he will rip someone.
Will Bush go before Young...have you been watching College Football this season? Young staying, he know he not ready for NFL and needs some fine tuning...a RB can go pro before a QB rather consistently...

I saw an interesting comparison between the career stats of Young and Bush:
Young might not have the Gale Sayers-like moves of Reggie Bush, but he's every bit the home-run hitter. Remember, not only are we talking about a player who's the nation's best passer this year, we're talking about a guy who has 850 rushing yards and nine touchdowns. While the Heisman isn't a career award, it's interesting to note that Bush has 3,087 rushing yards and 24 touchdown runs in 38 games, while Young, and remember, he's a quarterback, has rushed for 2,927 yards and 34 touchdowns in 36 games.
That is some impressive running stats for a QB, but I'd definitely take Bush over Young if Young declared. 12/15/2005 11:55:18 AM |

Larry Johnson was taken late in the first round by the Chiefs, somewhere in the twenties. I remember because all the talk that offseason was that Priest Holmes may be done for good after some serious knee injury or something. 12/15/2005 12:08:31 PM |

This guy had to be trolling you about Bush moving to WR, he can't possibly be serious.
Why would you take one of the elite RB's in the NFL and change his position? Oh thats right, you wouldn't.
And I can't remember what the Chargers got EXACTLY from Atlanta but it involved the pick that was used on LDT and the rights to Tim Dwight (good KR, below average WR). I'm pretty sure they picked Brees with their own pick like someone else said earlier.
BTW, nearly every team in the league has one or two good RB's right now, and about half the teams in the league don't have a single good QB.
Therefore, Mike Vick is at least as valuable as LDT and possibly more valuable.
You can always acquire a guy like Warrick Dunn, Travis Henry, or Lamont Jordan through free agency... while at the QB position you are picking between guys like Trent Dilfer, Jeff Garcia, or Kelly Holcomb.
BTW, Vick has three career playoff wins and Tomlinson has zero. I think the Falcons are alright with their decision. 12/15/2005 12:26:49 PM |

The argument about who got the better of the Falcons-Chargers trade has been discussed many times in articles and on NFL shows and I think most people consider the trade to be one in which both team came out ahead. The Falcons at the time needed a QB to replace the aging Chris Chandler while the Chargers were just plain awful and needed a whole bunch of pieces so getting draft picks and Tim Dwight was a sold move for them as well. 12/15/2005 12:42:19 PM |

^^^good QB's like Rivers and Schaub are forced to be the #2 for a couple of years because there is so much qb talent in the league, on certain teams. Other teams can't land a half decent qb because there aren't any in the free agent market or that teams are willing to give up. 12/15/2005 1:49:46 PM |

How crazy would it be if bush/smith played together in San Fran like their high school days? Even though SF wont get the #1 pick.

you guys are complete idiots proclaiming bush to be an elite hb in the nfl how many nfl games has he played? wow just wow. just because he consistently breaks 10+ yard runs for usc (best oline and possibly best qb) IN THE PAC 10 (worst defenses) doesnt mean he will consistently break 10+ yard runs for the worst oline in the nfl. in college bush has simply sprinted through wide open holes and made fools of the secondary. i seriously doubt he will be able to break tackles of nfl linebackers, linemen. im sure he will be a great player but i dont see him being a complete hb. like i said if he plays rb in non speedback situations he will not run effictively.
if i had him i would want to get him the ball in the secondary with more room to work/make the smaller guys on the defense (dbs) miss 12/15/2005 11:45:37 PM |

Yeah and a lot of scouts didn't think LD Tomlinson could play in the NFL.
If you're so sure Bush won't be sick in the NFL then find a way to bet against him cause he's the most automatic thing anyone else has ever seen. You should get some pretty good odds. 12/16/2005 2:27:51 AM |

im right...again.
ujustwait....ujustanidiot
bush is a great college player but will not be a great hb in the nfl. tonight he showed that he cannot escape tackles of legit (non pac-10) defenders. and he also proved that he is very fast and can turn corners. 90% of his rushing yards this season came off sprinting right off the handoff through wide open holes. nfl hbs dont get enough room to sprint until theyve already gotten by the front. AND OMG DID YOU SEE THE HOLES TONIGHT. lienhart is not the best qb ever. bush is not the best hb ever but this usc oline may have been the best oline EVER. i am pretty much convinced that many guys (like lorenzo booker) couldve had similar rushing sucess as bush.
the special thing about bush is his ability to get away from smaller guys and the only positions he can be great at in the nfl is wr and return.
AND YOU IDIOTS THINK HES BETTER THAN STARTING NFL HBS 1/5/2006 1:33:44 AM |
