what i'm worried about is that some of the voices won't return
i mean, what if they bring back married with children? then what would katie segal choose?

yeah, doing voice over for one character on a weekly show isn't exactly a full-time job 1/9/2006 8:46:06 AM |

They only do voices once a year and the rest of the time is spent animating the series. Each episode takes something like 6 months to complete so they have several animation teams working simultaneously trying to get everything done and synced before the deadlines. All of the voice-work is done prior to the animation. 1/9/2006 11:47:21 AM |

from the billywest.com forums:
HERE'S GREAT NEWS! Here's the official word on Futurama!! David X. phoned me about an hour ago and said that this Futurama project is a done deal! Here's the word from DX--- There are 4 DVD movies that we'll start recording at the end of July or August.Full feature length FUTURAMA movies. Everybody is excited to get back together--as I am!

If the DVDs sell well hopefully they will bring back the show.

dvd sales my ass
im tired of seeing adult swim overlooked as the catalyst in both of these resurgences.
they dug these shows out of fox's dumpster and have been pushing them for at least 7 years now, and then fox goes and takes all the credit. 1/23/2006 10:48:23 AM |

^[adult swim] has been running bumpers stating that Billy West told them that the voice talent got together and recorded for four Futurama movies, not sure if they are straight-to-DVD or to air on TV anywhere. 2/15/2006 8:23:18 AM |

From Billy Wests website, where Slashdot originally got the info on the new episodes:
Quote : | "rb2006--- I'm getting different bits of info that say this news may not be the case. There IS something up Futurama project wise but but it might be the DVD's still. It's hard to keep up with things--but I'll try to do better.

i always liked how they mixed normal animation with CG scenes. the coolest was when Bender's head was on the RC car and was driving around. you never see The Simpsons do that shit. 3/21/2006 1:51:30 PM |
