Corchiani and Monroe played their Senior seasons under Les Robinson. Gugliotta was on that team as well. That team was easily better than this one.

I didn't say best players.

If V had been coaching during Robinson's first year, that particular team would have been much better.

true that.

What a fucking waste of talent that was.

And for that matter, what a fucking waste of skin Robinson is.

The difference is, last year we got there by being ranked highly in the preseason and then losing games we shouldn't have.

This year we've worked our way up from nowhere.

I feel much more secure with our ranking this year.

I do too. We just need to make it through saturday without losing again and we'll be fine. I'm pumped for the UNC game...I think this is our best shot at sweeping them...they're gonna be nice next year.

Updated charts for this week appear below. Here's hoping our upward trend continues. Otherwise, next week's update could be quite painful. You may need to refresh if last week's images are saved in your cache. I just replaced the old images with the new.

The only thing could get misconstrued when taking a quick glance at the two graphs side by side at the top is that the y axis is not the same on both charts, so UNC's record might look better than it should.

Otherwise gg on the charts Coz

Fuck that... we'd be #1

ESPN would crown us national champs on the spot. March madness would be for 2nd place.

wtf

Quote :
"George Washington at Temple, Wednesday, 6 ET: The Colonials couldn't hang with NC State's system in Raleigh. OK, so that game could end up hurting the seeding process, but this one means more with the chance to get off to a good start in the A-10 title chase. The Colonials will have to dictate tempo if they want to get out of Philly with a win."

how'd it 'hurt' the seeding process?

all i can guess is that since GW is (albeit a good team) in a shit conference, it could hurt them in march if they dont win the conference

Yeah. If they don't win an automatic bid, then they're basically coasting on the UMD win.

Memphis will not fall out of the top 10. They will fall to about 7 or 8 with Gonzaga. Texas winning will put them around top 10 actually costing us a spot.

I know. I noted that on the previous page when I first posted them, but since UNC's initial ranking was so low, there are only two other options:

1. Widen the axis for NCSU, wasting a lot of space and reducing clarity.
2. Narrow the axis for UNC, meaning some points plot off the chart area.

That's why I just made sure everything was labeled on each chart. The final chart provides the best means of comparison among the schools.

If we can pull out a win against UNC, we have a great shot at moving up a few spots. A solid win against carolina would push us ahead of Maryland who we're tied with at least.

Coaches Poll Games/Losses to Note for the week

1. Duke (30) 12-0 774 @#22 Wake Forest
2. Connecticut (1) 11-0 731 LOST to Marquette 94-79
3. Villanova 9-0 716 @#8 Louisville
4. Memphis 11-1 672 Lost to Texas 69-58
5. Florida 12-0 647 ***
6. Illinois 14-0 635 vs. #7 Michigan State
7. Michigan State 12-2 540 @ #6 Illinois, @ #24 Wisonsin
8. Louisville 11-1 491 vs. #3 Villanova
9. Gonzaga 10-3 473
10. Washington 11-1 472
11. Boston College 10-2 386
12. Maryland 10-2 353
12. N.C. State 11-1 353 @#25 UNC
14. Oklahoma 8-2 346
15. Indiana 8-2 312 vs. #18 Ohio State
16. Texas 10-2 305 Def #4 Memphis 69-58
17. UCLA 11-2 292 @ #23 Arizona
18. Ohio State 10-0 262 @ #15 Indiana
19. George Washington 8-1 215
20. Pittsburgh 11-0 211
21. Kentucky 9-3 194
22. Wake Forest 10-2 95 vs #1 Duke
23. Arizona 9-3 93 vs #17 UCLA
24. Wisconsin 10-2 80 vs #7 Michigan State
25. North Carolina 7-2 69 vs #12 NC State

*** - Florida does not play a ranked team until February and has a good chance to remain undefeated until then. Kinda makes you sick because of their easy schedule.

At least 8 and probably 9 top 25 teams will lose a game this week due to playing other top 25 teams.

Two top 10 teams have already lost this week, and it will be at least 4 of the top 10 teams with another loss by the end of the week.

These factors with a solid win over UNC would move NC State up 3-5 spots I hope.

It must have been upset week, because 31 of the top 48 lost a game this week. Strikethroughs are the teams that dropped at least one this week. Look for Florida to become the new #2, and UNC to shoot up the rankings. An asterik means the team had a win against a top 25 opponent during the week.

ESPN/USA Today poll is usually around around 1, and the AP poll from 3-5 is pretty typical timing.

a few problems with this poll, there is no way that BC and MSU are still top 15 teams. Please throw your horrible preseason rankings out the window and actually look at the team. BC has played 2 ranked teams, both losses, and one bad acc team, GT and also lost. And MSU is just plain pitiful.at least we are still ahead of UNC and in the top 20.

Yea it's an absolute joke that BC is ahead of WVU.

WVUs schedule blows BC the fuck out of the water and they each have 3 losses.

I mean WVU lost to Texas, Kentucky, and LSU. They have beaten #3 Villanova and #8 Oklahoma.

Meanwhile BC hasn't beaten a ranked team yet.

See, what you have to do is lose all confidence that anything good can come from our sports teams. It worked half way through last basketball season for me. It worked halfway through this football season again. I just have too much confidence early in the season...thats why we fuck up. Now I can go back to pretending I dont give a fuck, then If we win...its a bonus...if we lose..."i told you so"...haha
