if by "give up," you mean force your to show that your original claim was wrong and caused you to switch your argument to something new 1/12/2006 1:27:32 AM |

my original claim that grants jumpshot actually looks like a jumpshot?
Quote : | "it's hard to expect morons to know how to use stats for good, not idiocy." |
selfpwnt?
and just because i personally would rather have grant shooting an open midrange jumper, i would definitely rather have hodge as a player...but if you told sendek you've got 2 players, one shooting 25% from the field and one shooting 26% from the field, he's not gonna hold any weight in your percentages being any kind of indication of which shooter is better]1/12/2006 1:28:27 AM |

i dont think you could get any more lame. you know full well that the original claim this argument is about is over who is the better jump shooter.
no one ever contested how either's shot looked, and we are all quite certain that "I think grant is a better jump shooter than Hodge" was not referring to looks. (or the ten responses that you wrote to that effect, afterwards)
You are now switching back to the the frivolous argument about looks to deflect from the fact that you lost the argument about actual jump shooting ability.
Own up to it, faggot.
[Edited on January 12, 2006 at 1:37 AM. Reason : yeah right, sendek goes with hodge because 26% is against the best defense. ]

no, he cant read...he can only type
and even though my original claim was CLEARLY that grant's mechanics were better, i still think grant is a better jump shooter
of course if you look at the percentages i gave and the percentages skokiaan gave (26% and 25%, respectively) you would probably think this is a good topic to debate since their percentages are nearly identical...but that would require opening your mind a slight bit
oh skokiaan called me a faggot...usually people who dont have any substantive arguments retort to strict name calling and avoidance of meaningful discussion
i posted my fucking stats and they completely supported my claims] 1/12/2006 1:41:25 AM |

yep...he cant read...i wish there were stats for double teams because hodge got doubled driving to the basket and got 0.5 teamed on the perimeter...grant gets single teamed either way...so grant gets more defensive pressure on the outside since he can actually make a jumpshot]1/12/2006 1:49:51 AM |

yeah, i remember all those times they .5 guarded hodge when he was shooting a mid range jumper. Or did you count mid range jumper as an inside shot? 1/12/2006 1:53:58 AM |
TreeTwista10 minisoldr 148440 Posts user info edit post |
you know most people would consider it misleading to only focus on the defense that was played on hodge during his potential buzzer beater shots' than consider how opposing teams dared him to shoot the mid/out jumper most of the time by playing loose coverage and then collapsed on him as he drove to the paint
ps: i only counted layups and tip ins as inside shots...and i, unlike you, actually factored in 3 point shots in my outside shot numbers since to me those are considered outside shots...i guess you know so much about basketball though that 3-point shots and percentages arent really relevant when discussing shooters' abilities...i'll have to keep that in mind] 1/12/2006 1:59:04 AM |

^actually, I included 3s in grant's numbers, dumbass
Keep dreaming about teams playing a 25% shooter from the field and role player harder on the perimeter than our best scorer in about 10 years.

^i spoke wrong. They do, in fact, include threes. incidentally, grant shoots 22% from three point range, which is worse than hodge and which undermines your grant-as-a-shooter assertion even more.

you think thats more effective than self-quoting calling someone a woman or a faggot?
you just dont get it...you're not on the 10 side of a lopsided 10 to 1 argument where everybody is arguing with me
you're on a 5 side in a 5 to 5 argument...and the blowing out of proportion that 26% is infinitely better than 25% due to defense...oh thats laughable...a good chuckle indeed
hey why dont you pick a side in the "who's a better quarterback: marino or montana" argument and then get all adamently defensive and surprised when it turns out to be a legitimate debate 1/12/2006 2:25:01 AM |

^so you lost and now you want a tie? you didn't claim that grant was just as good a shooter -- you claimed that he was better.
you were wrong.
based on this clearly reliable past, you further want us to accept it on faith that grant faces tougher field goal defense even though any one who is honest knows that isn't the case?
it's not debatable that you have been wrong on every major point in this argument. 1/12/2006 2:35:17 AM |
