yeah, you truly are missing the point here.

We lost this game b/c we couldn't defend the perimeter Ballgame, Finale, that's it. If you can't hold Duke to under 30% from the 3 you will lose, b/c they jack so many up with so many well timed screens.

No Bethel didn't have a good game, neither did Evtimov - but they didn't match up well with etonight. No fucking wonder that? In case you haven't tuned in, DUKE IS THE NUMBER FUCKING 1 UNDISPUTED TEAM OF THE COUNTRY, PLUS THEY WERE AT HOME.

You know I went back and checked a few more games...thinking maybe, just maybe these TWWers have seen something I have totally missed. Being a good sport and willing to learn about a game that I love and help coach, I took a peek:

Since the IOWA game (excluding the inflated UNCG/App/Asheville stats, where everyone scored a billion and did well) I have found that Mr. Bethel shoots an AMAZING 35% from the floor, but as I noted before, he does pass the ball well with a total 19:12 a:to ratio.

I'd think with my limited basketball knowledge (you know, since I'm a girl) that shooting 35% is pretty bad, so I looked closer again. About 1/2 his shots are 3s and I could live with a 35% shooting percentage from 3, but most of the games he went 0-2 or 0-3 from inside the arc...

Sorry I'm just not impressed

There were at least 3-4 occassions where the shot clock was running down and people just passed to Atsur because they knew he'd get a shot off.

If i had to judge, i would say

Simmons : played great
Grant : played better then usual
Bennerman : didnt do anything to really win or lose the game
Atsur : played worse then usual (he just clear as day isnt clutch)
Evitomov : played worse then usual (must have been a mismatch speed wise)
Bethel : didnt turn the ball over a million times, didnt score 100 pts, played decent as a point guard
Brackman : he played within his capacity as a 2nd year

oh yeah and duke is really good, sheldon is still ugly, and coach k is god

losing isnt a problem but guys ghosting out is. duke has great defense ya but paulus isnt that good of a defender and jj is a pretty good one but he isnt a great defender. atsur had dockery on him most of the night which is a legit excuse, evtimov got owned by melchioni who sucks on d and mcroberts who should be slower than him. where was tony bethel? i dont know what happend there.
