Ok, lets lay down the same thing that always get said. If it wasn't for this unique offense that we run, we couldn't get the recruits that we have. They come here because we're different from duke and carolina. If we tried to run their offenses... well, why not go to those schools. We'd get hand-me-downs from them and lose to them prepetually (at least we have an upset every once in a while). This is the best team we've had in a long time. DO NOT abandon the modified P.O. that we've developed. It's taken us 10 years to get here. You can't jump ship now when it's finally working.

i dunno what to think. the offense did ok but i think the reason it didnt do as well as possible is because of individual fuckups and not team fuckups. ive been a big hater of the herb offense but tonight it didnt look princetony

I'm not going to go into the Herb argument to deeply, but I will say this...

Herb gave the best team in the country a run for their money

We have made the NCAA tourney 4 years straight

Most schools in the country would kill to have what we have year in and year out. Show some damn respect cause right now some of you sound like classless redneck assholes.

^^^^^ absolutely not. We have progressed from the hardcore slow the ball down offense of the past years. This year, we have gotten away from it for the most part. But other parts still linger. I think that next year will be the year to get away from the slow the ball down mentality completely.

When I started here at state, we were horrible. Herb has done a damn good job and I applaud him for everything he has done. The next phase of our rebuilding is naturally to bring in two good classes and let them start with a fresh offense. These two classes combined could be our version of the fab 5.

Why abandon something that's worked very well once it has decent players in it?

It's pretty obvious whether you like Herb or not that he's had a plan to rebuild our program. We were pathetic when Les left and Herb had like nothing to work with. He used the Princeton offense to help us be able to compete with lesser players. As we've improved and gotten better players, our offense has evolved.

We dont run a "Princeton Offense" anymore, just ask Herb. We run the NC State offense that is traditional when needed and more princeton based when needed. There is NO REASON to abandon it, but it will continue to evolve as our players change, as any offense does.

The thing about our offense tonight was that it really had nothing to do with Princeton style or not princeton style.

We usually take lots of 3's and have a good amount of backdoor cuts. Duke took those away as their primary defense and we were forced to pound in inside. If we hadn't gone in to Ced most every play, Duke would've blown us out by 25+

Barring that spectular momentum shift, State goes down to the wire with the #1 team in the nation... on the road....


Who the fuck cares what kind of offense they ran, I'd say it worked pretty damn well.
