and there's a pretty decent rivalry with them and UNC

plus UNC won by 500 last year in charlottesville

A few things I'm not sure of...

1) Wouldn't it have better for UNC to have won tonight? No longer can we say 'so what, we lost to UNC... they are a great team'. Now it is 'yeah, we lost to UNC... who lost to UVA'. I don't beleive in the transitive nature of wins but I do think it makes you look not AS BAD when your losses are to teams that aren't shitty.
2) Isn't it better for our conference to have some superior teams and some shitty teams? I'm afraid that the ACC this year is going to be Duke... and then the rest of us with mediocre records. I hope NCSU can distance itself from these mediocre teams but when UNC gets beat up by UVA it seems that may not happen.

i'd rather see UNC lose to NC School of the Deaf and have it "hurt us"...any loss by UNC only helps me...i hate those pricks

Ummm, no on both fronts. We need decent teams to lose all they can if we want at least the #2 spot in the ACC tournament.

UNC's record doesn't dictate how good we are. Only NC State's does that.

It's called a rivalry.

And there's enough parity in the league this year that we ought to be able to distance ourselves from the rest of the pack. We'll end up a game or two back of Duke, but we should be in pretty good shape if we play even close to our potential.

their loss doesnt hurt us that much.. the ACC on the road is tough to play


I would pull for unc to win only if it majorly helped us. For example if duke were to drop a random game and we win out, i would pull for UNC to beat duke 2 times for us to win the ACC
(just a non realistic example)
