Maybe if the ALE would take a break from busting all the freshmen trying to sneak a few beers and just concentrate on making sure everyone is getting along and nobody is getting run over, we wouldn't have real criminals running amok.
It's outrageous! You've got scores of 19-year-olds getting tickets for holding a beer, but where were the cops when Timothy Johnson pulled a gun -- or even before that, when his two victims were beating the crap out of his little brother?" |
That was in the letter to chancellor oblinger and I couldn't agree with it more. The number of officers doesn't need to increase due to the cost. There are plenty already there that can get it done if they look at the bigger picture. Yes, underage drinking is illegal but I seriously doubt those are the ones causing all the problems. The ones who are being a little too rambunctious are the ones they should be looking at. So do your damn jobs.
Quote : | "Some of these fans only attend to tailgate and have little or no interest in the football game. This group, which on any given game day includes students, alumni and other fans, is a major source of tailgating problems. -quote from Younce
"The way that everybody should think about the game is that it's primarily a football game, that's the primary event and you go out there because you're going to a game," Stafford said. "You're not going to a party, and there are people who are going to the tailgates right now who have no intention of going to the game." -quote from Stafford" | What the fuck is this? And how much do these damn morons get paid, do yall honestly get paid to come up with stupid ideas like these? It's not like everyone can get tickets to the game so use a little bit of common sense. And what about those alumni who sit outside CF watching the game on a flatscreen on the side of their RV. I'm sure there is quite a bit of money coming from them so they'll never be bothered if the new rules are implemented. I think the administration is on one big power trip and is slowly trying to eliminate any enjoyment from being in college. Something definately needs to be done before college turns into a dictatorship.1/25/2006 1:45:07 PM |

Something like "Tailgate at your own risk...Officers on duty enforce public intoxication laws", then let everyone back into the lots whenever they want.
DAMN I get mad every time I think about this." |
true....true
it has been largely an unenforced bastion of freedom for students, and while this is not a bad thing if they choose to handle it responsible, it is almost impossible for this to happen
the free reign that students feel in those parking lots is the main reason for all of the problems1/25/2006 2:35:17 PM |
