rally, you at least got to admit that that last dunk contest was completely ruined by that redo the all time great dunks wheel they had, I mean they had players that couldn't palm the ball trying to dunk fromt he freethrow line

robinson has 3 inches on spud...spud is still the king of hops

i would have to argue that Nate Robinson has a higher vertical leap than Spud.

close, but Nate's is ungodly....its one of the highest i have ever seen.

well jprince, i didnt actually get to see the dunk contest live last year so i didnt see any of the blown dunks so i cant really comment.

I did however see about 8 amazing dunks on the highlights and thats what i was basing it on...

Id rather see one amazing dunk and 10 shitty ones than 11 average ones though... thats kinda the point of the dunk contest to me... to see something amazing.

Spud was listed at 5'7 and Nate ive always seen as 5'9....

listed heights are often fake, but with extreme cases like those guys i imagine they are accurate.

Spud is definitely amazing... but so is Nate Robinson.

I dont get why Spuds contest win was so historic, but Nate's is barely worth tuning in for?

I still have that putback dunk he unleashed on us on my hard drive.

When it happened during the game, everyone was completely stunned -- even more-so, since no one knew who washington was.

not downplayin it or anything, but you gotta outdo your past when you advance
i felt that his dunkoff dunk was a let down from all of his previous dunks

ray allen stomped ass in the 3pt contest in the first round, then he dropped bricked the ball in the final

That contest was a freakin joke. Warrick got screwed to start with, and Iggy was easily the best dunker on the court. Robinson winning was nothing but a joke! The dude can get up, but was he really a better dunker than A.I.? Hell no.

Iggy's behind the backboard dunk should have won the contest, hands down.

Just one more reason for me to believe that the NBA is nothing special.

BTW, Bethel is one hell of a three point shooter.

Nate deserved it. Why? Because A.I.'s final dunks were all "plain" ones.

He should've saved the behind-the-backboard dunk to compete with the "leaping over Spud" dunk if wanted the win

that stupid fag that was next to last on the right side INTENTIONALLY gave Nate an "8" on a great jam and then A.I. a "10" when it wasn't even QUESTIONABLE that it was a 9 or below.

Nate got 12 attempts, give him a break. If he could have done something in the first or second attempt, then yeah, he desrved it. Iggy was the best dunker tonight.

yea so he got 12 attempts....blame that on the rules saying they each had an unlimited number of dunks.

Nate Robs dunks were sicker than iggys in the final round and in the playoff, simple as that.

If the first round was the final round then yea iggy would have won hands down.

Nate Rob is the winner simply cause he dunked over spud webb....

This dunk contest was definately one of the best in recent memory
ive been dissapointed in the last few dunks contests cuz of the lack of originality
but this contest had a lot of new dunks plus some of the classics

i liked that between the legs left handed dunk by iguadala
a classic dunk with a little twist

Robinson took advantage of the rules.

And Andre fucked up by not saving his first round dunk for the finals. His behind the back and between the legs stuff would have gotten him through the first round.

And I'm tired of seeing the between the legs shit anyways. It was played out like 5 years ago. You've got to come up with something different if you're dunking in the final round. It was only special when Nate Robinson did it because the dude is 5'7" (he is not fucking 5'9"...he was eye-to-eye with Spudd).

And as amazing as Andre's behind the backboard dunk was....I'm still debating on whether or not I like Nate's dunk over Spudd better. I think I'm weighing his height in it too much. Although Andre's dunk was just ridiculous because he had to hang and fucking duck his head just so he didn't get whacked by the backboard. Both are evenly ridiculous to me.

i agree. assuming the person knows they can do a dunk before they try it, you can just assume they'll make the dunk eventually and judge it based on what it looks like they were going to do....save everybody some time.

the fact that Nate did that dunk in 15 tries is STILL an amazing feat

seriously, think about how many times the average b-ball player would've hadta try something like that

it was a nice dunk. but the whole event is supposed to have a buzz to it. it sorta kills it when the guy tries the dunk 15 times and by the time he gets it, you already knew what it was going to look like when it worked
