that's great for you, but i work on-campus, and have to be at my office most of the time. sitting out by reynolds even for an hour at a time really isn't very possible from 9-5.
it's a basketball game, not some competition to see who's the most hardcore fan.
i don't mind some of the best seats going to campout people or whatever, but i don't think that it should mean that people who can't dedicate that sort of time are kept from attending games.2/13/2006 1:40:09 PM |

let me clairfy. Its not that there was a huge line for tickets right at noon. You could show up after 5 to get in line and still get them, but it was just that the groups that wanted to make the effort to get out there for the whole afternoon would get the best tickets. Also, not everyone had to be there to get the tickets, just one person had to hold the ID's.

they wouldn't need any advertising rights
they're not using "Pack"/ "Wolfpack"/ "State"/ "NCSU"/ "NC State"/ etc so it's not like they would have to get permission from the university to hand out shirts
i mean, Geico handed out advertisement stuff. Allstate AND Geico both advertise at RBC. no conflict there.
I think Code Red is a great name for the student section. and it is widely marketable 2/13/2006 2:03:33 PM |

Ive been to Clemson, Wake, and UNC. I would dare say our section is EXTREMELY better than Clemson, and SLIGHTLY better than Wake and UNC.
Ours is #3 in the ACC behind Cameron and Comcast. But thats just my opinion. 2/13/2006 3:10:40 PM |

^^ you're joking right. first off BC's students are farther from the court than ours. also they only make up the end seats. it makes up sections E, F, G, H and Q, R, S, T. the Conte Forum seats only 8,606.

the fans that are on here that say we're #3 in the conference behind Duke and Maryland aren't NC State homers. most other fans in the conference think ours is third as well. well some Carolina and Wake fans might be too biased and say theirs is above us. i've seen other fans on boards rank us 3rd, and i know i read online articles by both Maryland (The Diamondback something) and UVA ranking 1,2, and 3 as Duke, Maryland, and NC State. 2/13/2006 6:19:51 PM |

Any Wake fan who thinks the Joel has a better atmosphere than RBC is full of shit.
I went to the Duke games here and at Joel in 2003 when we beat them, then wake beat them. Their crowd was loud and everything for most of the game, but they were as loud for the DUKE game as we are for UMD or UVA. They were loud to start out, then got quiet, then got REALLY loud at the end...which is about our progression through normal games.
That year, we made RBC pwn Joel, and that was during the height of Wake's "good fan" years. They have crawled back into their holes now though. Nobody in winston gives a shit anymore.
But I'd still put us tied for 2 with UMD....they're a little closer to the floor, but they're also douche bags. I think VT has the potential to be the most intimidating in that little gym...like Duke, they just dont have the team.

how is it irrelevant? 19,722 can make more noise than 8,606. plus they don't have the luxury of a low ceiling height like Duke, so it's harder for them to compete against us. 2/13/2006 7:53:11 PM |
rwoody Save TWW 37695 Posts user info edit post |
it is irrelevant b/c Duke holds barely more
and students make up about the same in any stadium so 19000 prb seats about the same students as 9000, where it matters anyway. 2/13/2006 8:03:41 PM |

i sat midcourt section 105 row d last game and it was fucking pathetic. Im not referring to anyone when i say this but "you people" who are on the sidelines PLEASE stand up the whole fucking game, yes this means timeouts as well...thats what you do at a sporting event. Please cheer and don't have convo's we have the whole night tommorow after the game to do that....hell even with a beer. If i see this crowd sucking like I have I will yell like I do every other game and say GET THE HELL UP!!! i mean even at the end when we do our song with the trumpets half of the people are sitting down. thats the most fun part of the game. Also at the end if we win...please stick around for the little NNNNNNNNNN CCCCCCCCCCCCC STATTTTTTTTTTTTE song. thanks 2/14/2006 11:35:07 PM |

^ you mean the alma mater.
Where the winds of Dixie softly blow o'er the fields of Caroline, There stands ever cherished, N.C. State, as thy honored shrine So lift your voices! Loudly sing from hill to oceanside! Our hearts ever hold you, N.C. State in the folds of our love and pride.
i know it and sing it everytime. they put the words up on the jumbotron, for those that don't know it.
also when i say "from hill to oceanside" i wave my right arm from the left to right denoting from the west to the east. it would be cool if everyone did it.

And yeah people need to get the fuck up and get louder during the games
But seriously, during timeouts? no
I sit behind the opposing teams bench for most games, and I'll stand up and OOOOOHHHHH at them with the rest ofthe section when they call a timeout, but during TV timeouts, I'll sit down if I want. I cheer loud as fuck while we're playing and yell at the opposing teams bench, but by the second half I need a rest during timeouts. That shit is tough when you have something to say to everyone of the opposing teams bench warmers.
Plus, everyone else acts like its too much to ask to be loud while we're on Defense, I'm not gonna go a step further and tell them to stand during timeouts.
