Incorrect stereotype. It is true for a vast majority of black pride, but plenty of black panthers and other lesser known groups were solely filled at anti-white aims.

But you are right to an extent. I think the problem is that "white pride" is now associated with kkk and other shitty movements, so no one can say they're proud to be white and not look like a skinhead. Of course, I could care less about which race I was, because I was taught something about equality of men or some shit.

I would bet a lot of blacks would be here without the slave trade. Given, this requires the argument that we would eventually still be a powerful nation without slavery, but lets look at it this way: What if we enslaved only Indians when we got here. We'd still be a powerful nation. So you think no blacks would be here? When did you think the Mexicans got here, when we were a shithole or once we were prosperous. Suerly, there'd be less blacks, but get it straight, Hatians and Africans still come here >200 years after slavery.

When i flip through my tv do i see just white people, when i read the paper is it just about white people, do we have little commercials promoting the things that only white people did, NO. durr, just cuz we arent having little segways of ppl talking about great white ppl doesnt mean that isnt the focus. the idea is that most history books and programs in general within our schools are very euro-centric. seriously what did you learn in high school? we did american history, american government, and european history (mostly france, england, germany, italy, and smatterings of other countries mainly in western europe).

the topics many schools teach regarding africa or asia are slim pickins.

The track record is pretty solid. I can't think, off the top of my head, of a single incident where white people got together to talk about how great white was that didn't end poorly for everybody else. Every single time. In other words, from where other people are sitting, it isn't that it might happen again -- it's that it will. I can't blame anybody for fighting that.

Then we look at other races. When black people get together to bask in their blackness, it almost never ends in our oppression. The NAACP never ran cracker pogroms, never tried to keep whitey from voting, never burned anything in my yard.

So, are some of these things racist? Yeah. But it's not what you'd call a malignant racism. Obviously the ideal situation would be one in which there is no racism, but, failing that, I'll allow for some of the benign kind. When I see you devoting an appropriate percentage of your outrage to white racism, then we can talk.

Other than that, I can't think of how learning about the huguenots in highschool has benefitted me more or less than learning about some ancient African civilization. Also, now that I think about it, other than bits about Egypt, there really hasn't been ANY mundane teachings about africa, where as I do at least remember learning about some Indian peoples that had city blocks, how the Chinese had dynasties and the japanese had the samurai code.

But, lots of people don't care about politics, and get through their lives without worrying about it (most people in the US can do this if they wanted). For this type of person, a knowledge of history is useless. Even politicians very often times ignore history, and get away with it.

what do u think that we can invent history to pertain to blacks in textbooks?? The reason they arent there is because they were in slavery. We cant just make something up to put them in there. Every history class/political class i have ever taken has an entire section or 2 about race pertaining to blacks.
