In the first segment of the second hour of today's NPR show, Weekend America, author Joan Parisi Wilcox discusses her book Ayahuasca : The Visionary and Healing Powers of the Vine of the Soul as well as her few experiences with the tea while in Peru.

Very interesting.

really? people using a substance which takes away their ability act responsibly is a responsible thing to do? hmmm..... How does that make them "better?" If anything, it fucks them up.

Break out the tinfoil hats and/or cheese, folks....

"The g0vt makes a shit ton of it's money through taxes on the "sales" of "intellectual property"--mostly pharmaceuticals, I think."

Are you even beginning to try and imply that pharmaceutical PATENTS gain the government a "shit ton of money"? Patents might make a little bit of money, but I'm willing to bet that these little things called "income taxes" and "sales taxes" make a hell of a lot more money than patents ever did. Even moreso, I'm willing to bet that if patents were in fact a money making process that pharmaceuticals hardly make more money than all the other patents.
