And JJ shot extremely bad tonight but still put up 18 points, had he only hit 2-3 of those 3's he missed it would have been a completely different story.

And yes Tyler "I look like an alien" Hansbrough isn't ready for the NBA and won't rush it barring they pull off a miracle NCAA run and win it all.

Tonight UNC wasn't shooting well(see Noel and Miller's performance against us, vs. tonight) and against a team that wasn't playing like they had weights in their pockets, they would have lost. Heck, as bad as Duke shot/played in the second half, they almost made a comeback there after 8 points in :51.

I was hoping UNC would lose this game to suck that momentum out of their sails, but it didn't happen, now I really hope they lose in the ACC tourney, if they win that they will have so much momentum it will be scary.

if you switched during replays, then yes they showed the same angle

i watched ESPN2 the entire night and actually preferred that angle to the conventional one used

as much as I hate to say it, theres a good chance that hansbrough will stay at carolina until at least his junior season. I heard on the radio or somewhere that his dad is an orthopedic surgeon, so he definetly doesnt need the money, plus his parents will try to push for him to get his degree.

I'd laugh my ass off if he stayed til his senior year and ended up coming off of the bench since carolina has ridiculous draft classes coming in

I have a friend that will argue until he is blue in the face every time he hears people talk about the UNC/Duke rivalry being the biggest rivalry in college basketball/ACC. Of course he would complain that the rivalry between UNC and NCSU was more heated.

The argument always centered around the UNC/Duke rivalry getting more press because both teams are always ranked close to the top each year but the real rivalry was between us and UNC.

Now it looks like the NCSU/UNC rivalry is dead. You know there will be a riot after a Duke/UNC game. For a NCSU/UNC game you have people saying "Don't storm the court!1!1!1, we are ranked higher!!111!!" then we lose... for like the 10 straight outing.

It's sad how the Duke/UNC rivalry has now surpassed the NCSU/UNC rivalry. It's even sadder how we consistently lose the them.

I'm assuming Duke played the whole night with 5 on 8 pressure since Hess/Valentine/? worked the game. I'd say they were given a nice bonus for allowing Hansbrough to do what he wanted.

Wonder how much Roy pays for a Rookie of the Year award.... Since it's already been proven that Roy authorizes payments to his players...It's only a matter of time before he gets caught at UNC.... We just need insiders to come forward. Swofford won't investigate, and I'd say that NCAA officials are so Tarheel blue they won't investigate either. It's up to an insider to blow the whistle. Then I'll write my book, "Intentional Fouls: The Dark Side of Carolina Exposed!"

Doesn't really matter. I thought it was a fair game and I'm usually pretty critical of Duke or UNC games. Even K said it was a very well officiated game..

It's just amazing to me that that is 2 games in a week that a 3 was counted when it should have been a 2 (happened to us vs BC too)..

Then I watch a Big East game and the same thing happens and they immediately review it. You would think the best, most historic conference in bball would have better officiating..

I will continue to complain about officiating until something is changed. I don't want to EVER, EVER see Karl Hess/Duke Edsall/Mike Wood/Valentine call a game in the ACC again!!! They suck!! I also want to see a new commisioner. I want to see someone who doesn't have a UNC "Educational Foundation" sticker on their car, or any of the other booster clubs for the member schools! I want to see someone impartial, someone who will work for the good of all 12 schools and not just their alma mater. John Swofford is solely responsible for the watering down of Tobacco Road basketball. The Big 4 should ALWAYS play each other twice. I feel he should go back to just being UNC's AD instead of using his position as Commisioner of the Conference to help his school. It's alot like a coach who's also the head of officiating for his/her league. Find someone impartial and get rid of Swofford.

UNC's opponents have been called for 14 more fouls on the season. So UNC gets roughly .875 more calls a game then there opponents do. Daggone swofford and the UNC biased acc officiating crews.......


In games that Hess, Edsall, Wood, or Valentine were officials. UNC was called for 158 fouls, there opponents were whistled for 143. So when either of these officials were in the game UNC had 1.875 more foul calls whistled against them.

In the two games where UNC had the biggest advantage in foul calls, Clemson/UNC and Georgia Tech/UNC none of the previous mentioned officials were present.

Ever wonder if it's not the NUMBER OF FOULS but the STRATEGIC PLACEMENT OF FOULS ON PARTICULAR PLAYERS??? You're throwing random numbers at me, but no placement of fouls on particular players. How many fouls were on each key player for the opposing team versus key players for UNC. Explain how Hansbrough flies into a crowd out of control and somehow it's ALWAYS...ALWAYS a blocking foul. He never gets called for a chicken-wing. How many games has he fouled out of?

From the time it was 50-30 georgia tech with 4:01 in the first half....georgia tech was whistled for 16 fouls, 3 of which were in the last minute trying to come back......unc for 10..... so take away the 3 fouls in the final minute....and georgia tech was whistled for 13 fouls in the final 24:01 while unc was whistled for 10....

but those 16 fouls hurt GT much more than the 10 on UNC did because UNC only had 6 before that. GT got hosed by the refs and wound up with several players sitting by end of game.

Good stats, but you really cant look at it that way. These referees are notorious for "evening the foul count" when they know its totally bogus. Just look at the State/Wake game. They had 8 fouls, we had 4, and it was really being officiated well. Next thing you know, we're called for 3 fouls and not 10 seconds had run off the clock, and at LEAST 2 of them were bogus, maybe even the 3rd. This isnt a pro-state argument, but this is an example of what happens in every acc game.

THe point is, the games are closer than they should be because weaker teams get foul helped by the foul count, and referees are afraid to make bad calls against Duke and UNC at the end of games, making it look like there is more of a bias than there really is.

There's no conspiracy, its just piss poor officiating.
