you know bunch of average goofballs who just so happened to stay awake in class long enough to get a degree

and i promise you they DO NOT have any expertise in making nuclear weapons

^^ You do not need expertise to replicate someone elses work. All you need to be able to do is recognise a correct answer when you see one. Everything else can be gathered with sufficient research and experimentation.
