you recognize any scenery in the show aside from landmarks like skyscrapers?

(assuming you still live in baltimore)

i do actually. season two seems to be based in locust point, which is within walking distance of where i live.

ive been tempted to drive over to west baltimore to see "the towers", but i haven't yet.

I also cancelled HBO to save some money but I'm very tempted...

I don't think I can ever watch another cop show or movie again because it just won't come close to this show.

yeah the season is supposed to mainly focus on the eductional system in bodymore and all pertaining aspects

S1: drug trade
S2: docks
S3: drug trade
S4: education

i'm about to click post reply even though i'm almost embarrassed to even attempt to condense such a great complex show into those short "descriptions"

I've broken down and re-ordered HBO. Between this and Entourage, I think its worth the extra couple bucks. This show should be required viewing for college sociology classes.

Just watched the trailer. Is Prez a teacher now? I wonder how long before he sucker punches a kid.

Looking back on the 3rd season, I can see that there was a shift of focus to the kids. Especially with Carver buying the basketball goal for Hamsterdam and Cutty starting the boxing gym.

i like it that one of those kids ^^ is wee-bey's son. in the previews, they show him going to prison to visit his dad. i'm glad they didn't write wee-bey off. i love his character.

p.s. CARCETTI FOR MAYOR!

triple
post

so did anybody watch either of the two behind-the-scenes things they had for this season? both available onDemand...talked to some of the actors, gave a little heads up on the season...neat stuff too like how many of the actors were ex-cons...they said the reverend that Cutty talks to while trying to meet that old girl last season used to be a huge baltimore drug lord and got locked up and is now a church man...also snoop got locked up at 14 apparently...that i could definitley believe

***POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERT***

at some point in the season it seems snoop and partlowe get arrested, a couple kids discover a body in the boarded up vincent street house and omar goes to jail

yeah, i saw where omar is in the clink. i wonder if they'll have omar going to the same place as avon. it would be cool to see them square off in prison.

the specials on the show were really interesting. i think they said one of the creators was a cop and the other was a political writer for the local baltimore newspaper. these guys really know what there talking about when it comes to baltimore.

i really liked the first episode. they jumped right in to where season three ended by showing marlo in control of all the corners. i love how they introduce all of the kids for this season. that should keep it real interesting. we'll see how bodie deals with shitty corners and no muscle. the mayoral race is interesting. they make carcetti and mayor royce look like asses. i guess i'd vote for grey. should be another great season.

definately. i am very impressed with the amount of detail they put in the show about life in baltimore. ive lived in b-more for a little over 2 years now, and its interesting to see how their take on situations parallels real life. even little things, like a bumper sticker hanging up in someones cube, to the development of certain city areas is very similar to real life.

i dont know if they planned it, but midterm elections are in full swing up here, so i wonder if they meant to parallel that aspect of things as well.

oh yeah, definately. a lot of season 2 was shot close to where i live....but i think they mix and match places...i can't find the bar they went to in season two, but the street (clement) is a few blocks down from my house. also, the old run down silos are actually being turned into luxury appartments, just like they were fighting against in season two. they are starting the renovations now.

as a side note, those silos are the same ones that are burning down in Ladder 49.

mos def, snoop is def. gangsta
that nail gun bit was awesome as was the enitre first episode.

crazywill, at teh end of the show there is a tag line saying shot on location in baltimore.
that has got to be an experience considering some of the neighborhoods they film at.
