UConn would make financial sense... but BC is enough of a geographical outkast as it is. UConn just wouldn't fit.
I would enjoy throwing shit at Calhoun twice a year, though 3/21/2006 10:16:42 PM |

uconn would give bc a friend up there
and i would much rather be a fan of a acc team than a big east team 3/21/2006 10:23:04 PM |

the ACC doesn't need UConn or Syracuse, it's big enough as it is 3/21/2006 10:25:57 PM |

I wish we could have gotten Louisville.... which would have made about as much geographical sense as BC 3/21/2006 10:27:08 PM |

yes because louisville is right along the atlantic coast, being a landlocked state and all 3/21/2006 10:28:57 PM |

^^not on a coastal state
the only options still available would be UConn, Syracuse, Rutgers (yeah right), Temple (see Rutgers), Pitt (i guess), UGa, USC, and Florida.
and really, why bring in anyone else?
V theres a port in Philly!
we could get Delaware or Maryland Eastern Shore

Well, I know it's not a coastal state... and this is the "ACC".... but it's at least closer than Massachusetts.
So If Tennessee wanted in (which they never would), would you let them? They're "in the vicinity"....

They are nearly on the same level. Take away Chris Paul's little bit of time, Odom>Prosser.3/21/2006 11:47:54 PM |

Then he'd hold up his 3 national championship rings and laugh at you as you get thrown out of the arena!
Hey guys lets go after Georgia, UCLA, Michigan, and Texas to make it an even 16...

Why do you say that? They are a giant that hasn't quite woken up yet. They have TONS of alumni who donate, loads of talent in both major sports in state, the ability to upgrade facilities, and a good young football coach. They are a few years from putting together a very good football program... in my opinion..

WHAT?? Boston is MUCH MUCH closer to DC then Miami is.. MUCH CLOSER. Like 8 hours closer...

Couldn't agree more. I lived in SC for about two years after graduating at State and it is amazing how much Cock fans think their football program is the shit. Their baseball team is good, but in football and basketball, they have ZERO history. It also took me a while to get used to people saying Carolina and realize they were talking about USC. The fans are passionate, but I am glad I'm not a fan of that shitty school.
BTW: USC also doesn't have the academics that the rest of the ACC schools do so they're a better fit in the SEC.3/22/2006 12:45:16 PM |

woah now, usc is a pretty good school actually. them and state are consistently in the top-100 in the nation. their business school is #1 in the nation for some fields.
and the SEC isnt as bad as you think academically. for every Ole Miss, theres a Vanderbilt.3/22/2006 12:49:54 PM |
rflong All American 11472 Posts user info edit post |
^ You've basically got Vandy which is a strong academic school, then a bunch of solid schools like Florida, Auburn, Tennessee, etc, and then shit schools like Arkansas, Ole Miss, Miss State. The ACC has no shit schools (well maybe FSU), but has elite schools like Duke, UNC, Virginia, Boston College, Wake Forest and Georgia Tech which all are equal or better than Vandy.
It's all opinion anyway... 3/22/2006 12:58:16 PM |
