I know they won the nationall championship last year in their division...but who all did they lose from that team??

why are people seriously worried about App? i know it's the first game, but just our sheer talent should get us an easy win. yes they were a very good team last year in Div. I double fucking A! there's no reason why we shouldn't hang 40+ on them.

I know we might not have the team everyone wants us to have, but the tallent discrepancy between 1-A and 1-AA is HUGE (literally too....those fuckers are tiny).

If we lose this game, I'll kiss every one of your asses. Its just not gonna happen. They might drop more points on us than we'd like, but we'll put up AT LEAST 50.

i know i posed this question before, but which freshmen have the best chance of making an immediate impact? we have some tall recievers coming in. i'm just glad to see that John Dunlap will be making a return. the good thing about him is that he has good size. he's not skinny like a lot of other wide receivers. i know J.C. Neal is listed as a Safety, but i wonder if he could do double duty if he wanted to. here's what our current WR corp looks like this spring:

He's listed as an athlete on rivals, so he probably will, but he could end up at another position. Disregard original post. He's listed at 5-8 on Rivals, and 5-10 on Scout. Scout has him listed as a WR. See this is the discrepancy I was talking about between the two sites.

The best thing about putting Blackman at receiver is that when he catches the screen, or runs the reverse, he can actually juke someone.....unlike Tramain in his last 2 years.

We have Levin Neal don't we???? I don't see him on that list. Both Neals saw the field last year. One is a WR and one is a Safety.

I also have a feeling that every one of our freshman receivers from this years class is going to redshirt, plus a few of them will end up on defense before its all said and done. Everett was aparently recruited as a DB, but he actually had some pretty damn good receiving numbers as well.

I'd be surprised if any of them saw the field this year. Nate Irving might see some PT if we're weak at LB, but he probably needs some weight, and same for Augustine.


Also, is there any news on Baldwin? That would help, maybe this year and in the future if we landed him.

I think we won't see a single true freshman on the field this year. (I hope not, at least.) Both because the recruiting class was a little weak, and because we have enough depth at every position that we don't need any of them.
Maybe Augustin (especially if Brooks doesn't make it), but our DL coach has stated that he really really wants to redshirt every one of his players. I think the other coaches wanted to see Willie Young on the field last year, but Mr DL kept him out.

The idea of having a plaza of some sort connecting the RBC to CF came with the NEZ project. Perhaps the details of it are fairly new, but the general idea is very old.
Looks kinda cool, but what happens when we retire a 9th jersey? It would certainly help the aesthetics of the stadium, though. Now all we need is a little something to de-uglify the east side, and the stadium will be rockin'.
And while I like sports as much as the next guy (well, a bit less, actually), there is such a thing as drooling a bit too much over some football player from 50 years ago, IMO.

An "inviting" sign on the top bowl of the stadium makes sure you feel at home in the high heat and noise of the stadium: "Clemson Welcomes You to Death Valley." Which is fitting, because Clemson football is a life or death devotion. Some northeasterners might snobbishly retort that "heck, there in the middle of nowhere, it's all they've got." True, the nearest major city is in another state: Atlanta, over two hours away. But when you see the devotion they have to their team, there's little emotion any outsider can feel other than respect. And they show their devotion in plenty of ways. At the start and end of every game, win or loss, everyone in the stands sings along with not only the fight song, Tiger Rag - you've probably heard it on your NCAA Xbox game - but also the Alma Mater. I'll buy a dessert from the Chocolate Bar for the first student who can even recite BC's Alma Mater to me from memory. And they don't stop using their voices then, and the next day few of the fans even have voices to use. In Alumni, where the 44,500 seating capacity is a seminar class compared to the lecture hall sized stadiums in the ACC, everyone knows that the cheering section is actually even less, limited to the 8,000 students in attendance and a few dedicated alums. At Clemson, everyone stands and cheers. Sitting on third down when the other team has the ball is practically reason enough for ejection from the stadium, and overtime on Saturday made it nearly impossible to hear even in the enclosed press box. Southern Comfort Since many of you have been raised on the bitter hatred of the Yankees-Red Sox rivalry, I'm sure you're expecting that the Clemson fans would treat the invaders from the north and their supporters with disdain and disrespect. Far from it. In fact, after the poor reviews some Florida State fans gave to the reception they got in Beantown, the South Carolinians were more hospitable than the Ritz-Carlton. Wearing a BC shirt around campus at Clemson, you couldn't walk more than five minutes without being pulled over by another group of tailgaters. But instead of berating you, they were just excited to chat: about football, BC athletics, the excitement on campus, even what it's like to be so cold all year. And they were even quicker with offers of food, a chair to sit in, and an ice-cold beer - sorry sir, gotta keep my journalistic integrity. As excited as the BC campus has been over the move to the ACC, the people down south are just as elated to have a new school with our academic and athletic reputation in the conference. Needless to say, they were more than happy to welcome us, now it's up to us to make sure we keep getting invited back. BC couldn't have come out much better from its first trip into ACC country after Saturday's exciting overtime win, but it's clear we have plenty to learn from our southern counterparts. Maybe someday we'll all be talking about "Eagle pride.""

I personally have never had the opportunity to tailgate all day, and I fucking want that opportunity, and I want everyone else to have that luxury as well. My freshman year I couldnt find rides to the game much more than 3 hours before hand, and my sophmore year I missed ONLY the Richmond game for that opportunity.

I agree that 4 hours is plenty of time to tailgate, but come on, traffic is such a bitch now getting to the games also, so you need to remove the time restrictions.

ah yes football season. the sight of guys peeing in the bushes beside Trinity, sorority girls puking an hour or more before kickoff, one person "sleeping it off" on the concrete below the bench seating during the first half, and some drunk guy falling all over the place in the stands on a thursday night game, knowing that he has an assignment due tomorrow that he has yet to begin working on.

i've actually seen all of these things happen. well i'm not sure if the guy that was falling all over the place had any work to do, but i'm almost 100% sure he was gonna miss class the next day.
