Aerosmith with Kid Rock
Aerosmith with Lenny Kravitz
Rolling Stones at Duke last Oct.
Flame all you want but Kenny Chesney concerts are fun as hell, even though I usually get too drunk to really rememember
Skynyrd and Allman Bros was pretty cool a couple years ago
Black Crowes in Asheville a few weeks ago

PS- there are rumors, RUMORS I REPEAT that the black crowes, drive by truckers, and robert randolph might tour together this summer

Interpol in Asheville last year was pretty awesome. Oh, and weezer in raleigh back in 1997 on the pinkerton tour was amazing as well.

due to the number of shows I attend, I'm having a hard time with this one. there've been so many great ones.

tool at the ritz back during the aenima tour

jamiroquai is incredible live.. capital ballroom in 97

pearl jam in philly last fall was awesome as well. they just played obscure song ater obscure song.. as much fun as evenflo is live, it was nice to hear sonic reducer, alone, and crown of thorns.. pretty much a once-in-a-lifetime show

and they played evenflo anyway

i'm sure there are others, but radiohead has been a super-letdown every time i went.. never had anything to do with the band

postal service at go in 2002.
radiohead with stephen malkmus and the jicks, camden NJ, 2003
oddly enough, NIN, 2000. (i think it was 2000)
eninge down cd release party for to bury within the sound, kings (~1998)
cave in - backdoor skate park (1997 or 1998, beyond hypothermia days) (piebald played too)
gloria record, national skyline - go! 1999
gloria record, skylight exchange - like 1997 or something
jejune at some place in greenville i think, wayyy back
converge at some place in virginia beach.
casket lottery was good at go, but better at backdoor.

god, i used to go to shows damn near everynight, its hard to keep track of who sucked live =(

somehow, i missed every single opportunity to ever see coalesce live, which really bites at me still.

So in that case AC/DC, those guys can still rock in their old age.

Runners up include:
any other q and not u show
les savy fav at the cradle
franz ferdinand at the cradle

[Edited on April 4, 2006 at 9:43 PM. Reason : q and not u rocks my socks off]

Widespread Panic

08/06/05 Harbor Center, Portsmouth, VA
1: Surprise Valley > No Sugar Tonight/New Mother Nature, All Time Low, Weight Of The World, Holden Oversoul > Sharon > Bust It Big, Jack, Imitation Leather Shoes

2: Pigeons, Second Skin, Ride Me High > Space Wrangler, Expiration Day, Travelin' Man > Vacation > Arleen > Life During Wartime, Conrad

E: May Your Glass Be Filled, Pilgrims, Lawyers, Guns, And Money

['Can't You Hear Me Knockin'' jam before 'No Sugar Tonight/New Mother Nature'; 'Last Dance' rap by JB during 'Pigeons'; 'Don't Cry For Me Argentina' tease by JoJo during 'Second Skin']

I saw the Dead in Raleigh in 2004. Great set but the energy was kinda low. Never saw Jerry unfortunately. Tom Petty seems to always put on a great show too.

Had I been to that Nickelback show where the crowd pelted them with rocks, it would have been the best show I ever attended.

But seriously, The Roots and 311 in Philadelpha, July 2004.

Evenescence @ Tremont Music Hall in Charlotte, NC.

We were about 15 feet from the stage and this was before they got huge so it was a small venue. Absolutely amazing.

The longest with a little bit of everything: KWS/Ted Nugent/ZZ Top

The group who sounded closest to the records: Boston

The best show: Ted Nugent shooting bow and arrows at people hidden in bunkers on stage.

The best normal show: The Doobie Brothers

The best jam and musicianship: The Allman Brothers Band

The most fun: Skynyrd and the Allmans 2 years ago.

Where am I headed tomorrow night? Lincoln Theatre to see Derek Trucks!

In terms of sheer fun, KISS with Poison as the opener. Really. I mean it.

Close behind is my fond memory of seeing Weezer and Nerf Herder.

Then throw in The Archers of Loaf's last two shows at the Cradle for sentamental reasons.

During the second set they brought out an orchestra for the rest of the show. The whole show was also filmed/recorded for a DVD/CD release.
