You failed to mention that Will Langley's DADDY came up from Key West to help him. 1. I can't say for certain, but that explanation seems way more plausible to me. I've seen it happen more times than I care to remember. And while I can't say with any certainty, I wouldn't be surprised if maintenance got orders to pick up his signs. Attacks only get you so far...

2. I think it's funny that his dad's coming up from Key West and yet Will Quick is the one people'd like to call the spoiled rich kid.

Will Langley holding the sign... Will Quick had no interest in being photographed at 5am. I didn't take any more because I didn't want to mess with what was going on. I had just got there a while ago to talk to Will and give him a ride and it would have been immature to be standing there snapping more photos when the tone of the situation was pretty serious (I heard it got a lot more so once I left). The cops there were nice, but didn’t take too well the brief moment of publicity they got when I arrived. In the picture Will Langley was smiling in reference to the comment made by Quick.

According to Robert Bradley, the Grounds Manager for Facilities, this was not the case. He assured me when I met in person with him today that his staff had been instructed to not pull down elections signs unless they were in shambles or thrown aside and for all of them if taken to be brought back to a pile near his office. This has been done for the past two weeks... I went through the pile this morning. It contains a few of Langley's large tyvek signs and about one of each for every major candidate but not the 120 it is looking like we're missing in total now. Only two signs on stakes were there. One for John Mickey, one other for Will Quick, none of Langley's.

I also spoke with the person grooming the Court of Carolinas where at least 30 of our signs went missing between last night and this morning. He reported that the word in Facilities is not to take the signs but move them if needed, as was the case with two of Will Quick’s which were kindly placed in the center of the Court while it was being mowed. Langley’s? One was taken out of the ground (in a landscaped area) near Winston/Caldwell/Tompkins and a couple still were left in place around Poe, but as for the rest; completely gone. The guy from Facilities, I believe his name was Erin, gave me a few contacts and I went from there up the chain. He assured me to his knowledge people were informed about the elections going on and have tried not to interfere.

I just addressed the “stolen” signs. You’re wrong. Check the pile and I encourage you to talk to Robert Bradley, his number is 919.515.0057 about the conversation we had today regarding this.

I’ve got a lot done this year, but that is a different conversation and one I’ve addressed in previous posts if you care to check my history.

His father was up here last night, I met the guy when I arrived at the Sigma Chi house. He has not been involved to my knowledge with the campaign for so long as I’ve helped work on it and the only role I know he had taken is to help Langley put out signs after the rest of his help had to go home for the evening. Nice of a thing for a dad to do. Other members of his family has also helped him out including his sister who I met yesterday afternoon in the brickyard.

Oh, and unless Facilities is working the ultra late shift and have a Sigma Chi frat boy on their staff, then I doubt it was them lifting the signs. Langley has those photos on his cell phone and I imagine he will post them so long as they don’t interfere with the ongoing investigations. Since I am not directly involved, I don’t feel sharing mine will cause a problem.

Also, hasn’t Tony been helping Quick too? He’s graduated but I’m not complaining about that.

Clearly, you're partisan, JSWFB, but a few things from my perspective:

In everything I've read in Technician, Quick hasn't responded to Langley with a slanderous word, so I don't think this was done with his knowledge. As far as I can tell, Will Quick's been a stand up guy throughout this whole thing...when no one would blame him for going the same route as Langley.

You're supposed to control your supporters, under SG statutes, but there's only so much you can do. Plus, back when Langley ran for Treasurer, he did the EXACT same thing to mmpatel and then "fired" his campaign staffer and it was settled.

Oh, and Tony's a graduate student, so he's free to participate unabridged. Also, he's still one of the most popular guys on campus, so it only makes sense to get him involved.

Langley did not win by a large enough margin the first time to secure his victory in the runoffs

Quick could pull a good majority of Cody's votes and win

It's entirely possible that Will Quick didn't have anything to do with the action, but it still tells us all manner of important things.

Chief among those is the fact that the members of the fraternity from which so many SG people come are a pack of criminals, and incompetent ones at that. The same organization that produces such common hooligans wants to produce our entire executive branch? And you all call Langley arrogant.

Beyond that, who wants a leader that has so little control over his own people?

On the whole, I'm pleased they did it -- they couldn't have done more to shoot their friend in the foot if they'd put a dead stripper in the dumpster, too.
