"I reduced the amount I drive and am planning to get a more efficient car when the one I'm driving now is no longer viable. I also shift at 1500 rmp instead of 3000 or so like I did when I was 17. That adds some gas mileage."

shit . . . 3000 is low.

nah, i normally shift like 2500. I think I'd be doing about 20 by the time I put it in 5th if I shifted at 1500

all highway driving (like 80 - 85 mph) I have around a quarter of a tank left at 400 miles - like 34 mpg. Don't know my range for city driving, but I can drive for like 2 weeks min on a tank, sometimes 3 - get like 29 mpg

"nyway, I drive an extremely inefficent car. 12 mpg...and I drive with my fuel economy in mind- constantly. In fact, my car has an "economy guage" that is pretty much in compliment with the tacometer. But anyway, you can't accelerate quickly in my car.

"

My Pathfinder is alreay paid off, so I'll just have to suck it up and drive less than necessary. And it sucks because I travel between cities a lot also. The family will just have to do without my smiling face until I come back to Raleigh in Spring 07 unless gas prices drop.

I hardly drive due to where I live, but if I lived somewhere else at the moment I would be in the market for a new car, and no it wouldn't affect my decision (mostly b/c I'm not some idiot that wants an SUV).

The gasoline price does (sometimes) affect how fast I drive on long trips. My gas mileage plummets at speeds over 75mph...and I usually like going 80-85

Ive got a mustang 5.0, gas mileage advertised at 17/24-which is only correct if you drive like a grandma. I found if you drive it like you stole it in the city you get about 12mpg, if you shift at like 1200rpm, in 5th gear by 40mph, only then do you get the advertised gas mileage
