i'm not sure how powerful a 1 day effort not to buy anything will be. it makes me think of those anti-gas company e-mails that suggest loading up on gas the day before or the day after a given day to show them on that day you can go without. if you still end up spending just as much money & don't maintain the effort, then the gas companies haven't lost anything.

the guy who cleans my gym showed up around his normal time tonight

he may have done something during the day
but i doubt it
he went through the legal channels to become a citizen
