^^ Hah..I can't say I didn't expect you to think I was bombing on "your way". I'm not, though. Different strokes for different folks. I was too tired of living off crap, being kemp up in some stupid apartment w/ 2 roommates that I don't even know, and oh yeah, wanted to actually be able to afford to marry my g/f of nearly 5 years and have a home together.
I will admit, if I were single, I would see things more in your light as I'd have no one else but myself to care for. 5/17/2006 8:37:19 PM |

I kinda had the oh yeah sure I'm graduating feeling too.
That may be because I started BLET at another school before I even graduated from State, and since then I've been going balls to the wall. Hell the past month of my life has been one long day. I'm just looking forward to August and working. 5/17/2006 9:36:37 PM |

I feel the same way. I am more stressed out than ever. I have been interviewing with a company and at the last interview I learned the pay grade and benefits which are just...crap. I also would not be able to work my late night marketing job which I LOVE working and that I want to make into a career. I can't sustain on the marketing job alone and if I turn down the job offer(I know they are going to offer it) I would need something flexible during the day.
I don't know what to do. I am just lost. 5/17/2006 11:05:50 PM |

Disclaimer: I didn't read the thread.
I'm basically terrified of finishing college. I mean I'm terrified of going back to college but that part i can deal with. But if I try to look to my future past college I see nothing. I just know that I don't want to work shitty jobs the rest of my life and school is my best bet for that. 5/17/2006 11:46:43 PM |

if you enjoyed college as much as i did, you will graduate with a bit of a heavy heart despite the magnitude of the milestone. parting is sweet sorrow. i had enough credits to be done in 3 years, but took 4.5 instead because of all the internships and part time work i did. even then, i was a bit reluctant to get out, but i'm glad i did.
i knew for sure that i wanted to go back full time for an MBA, and i wanted to be able to do that without having much financial distress. and at the time there was no MBA in the land that took people with under 2 years of full time work experience, so i knew i had to get out there and pound the pavement asap. plus, coming back for 4 full semesters allowed me to participate in college life again. i'm glad i did it the way i did. i would not be where i am were it not for the internship i landed between Y1 & Y2 of the MBA.
work towards a goal or in a direction that is somewhat well defined, and maintain a healthy social life, and you'll be fine after the initial sorrow of parting with college life subsides. 5/18/2006 10:39:02 AM |

I wanted to come to NCSU immediately after my graduation from college, and I graduated in less than 4 years from college. So, basically, I took as many courses as I could and acted as fast as I could to get out of college. 5/18/2006 11:46:58 AM |

I graduated from State in 3 years... Because I came in w/ 15 hours from HS and took 6 hours one summer and 12 another...
I hated classes.. I hated tests.. I hated HW.....
So I got out in May 2005 (HAPPY OUT OF MY MINDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD) and KNOWING I would never go back.
And then I went back to school @ Duke in the beginning of 2006 while working 40-45 hours a week... driving 1.5-2 hours a day.... and going to class 9 hours a week...
AND I still party/have fun like I'm in college.
So I still have no regrets about being out of college. I don't think I will... I like making money a whole lot.
I'm tired though.
Moral to the story-- cheer up... College was fun but I think life is just getting better and better. 5/18/2006 3:47:13 PM |
