I'm going to wait till the end of the summer to see what bugs come up, but I'm def going to pick up a macbook. I've been looking at powerbooks, used powerbooks, ibooks, etc for 6 months and planned on picking up a refurb for around $700. The specs on the Macbook blow anything I've looked at away.
Not a poweruser by any stretch, but will probably be working with GRASS soon and need a computer with more umph. Damn GIS. 5/22/2006 8:42:58 AM |

There's pretty much people walking around in NY all the time. 1 AM, and there was STILL a massive line:

Also, Apple was giving away 1 Macbook every hour. The 7PM guy looks like a skinnier esgargs, and the 4AM guy is dressed like a hobo.5/22/2006 2:26:43 PM |

^By then there should also be an additional special promotion, epescially if school of design can get their shit together and decide what they're going to want the students to have. 5/28/2006 10:28:24 AM |

You may want to check out the ADC student membership. For $99 you get a get monthly developer tool updates on CD, an extra copy of the latest OS on DVD, and a rather large discount on 1 piece of hardware. For instance, my Macbook Pro was 1599+tax+99 fee. The savings obviously won't be as much on a regular Macbook or Mac Mini though.

You must be a full time student and be able to fax Apple a copy of your class schedule as proof. Your major doesn't matter as far as I know. 5/28/2006 2:00:36 PM |
