Started getting interesting, but then when Mulder and his talk show buddy sat Scully down and explained exactly what the "true" conspiracy was, I started rolling my eyes.

The idea isn't bad, but just the way it was done and explained sounded a lot like the South Park 9/11 episode where Stan and Kyle get kidnapped by Bush W., Cheney, et al. and they explain the crazy "true" conspiracy and every 2-3 sentences Kyle has an exasperated look and says "REALLY???"

i think the original series was great, on an individual episode basis. the season/series long arcs were kind of meh.

I probably caught an episode or two of the original series and all I remember of the movie is the word bees. Maybe the show was always like this but there were several moments that were a little too

So I'm still watching all the old episodes, I'm up to season 3.

These government informers that come to Mulder...Deep Throat and the black guy, they seem to just invalidate everything the show is about. What is their purpose? If they don't want Mulder knowing the truth, why not just take him out? The government is wasting a lot of time and money keeping him going. It seems like the government always knows what he knows, and is a step ahead of him.
