It's time for the Bobcats to stop worrying about picking popular college players and start worrying about winning basketball games. Noone wants to pay to see a crappy team, regardless of who remembers those guys from college.

I love how the Bobcats want to put people in the seats based on who we have, haha.

How about someone let them know, that in order to get people in the seats, you have to have a WINNING SEASON, haha.

I know he doesnt have as much upside as some of the other players but he's as ready to play right now as anyone else.. and thats Brandon Roy. I know 3 is kind of high but I like him. I would have said Gay but he just didnt show me enough heart during the season and the tournament.

GERALD FUCKING WALLACE!

I mean what the hell? Charlotte needs a 2-guard scorer so Matt Carroll can come off the bench.

Roy/Gay here dumbasses. Please. Felton/Wallace/Roy or Gay could put up some numbers.

Seems that way sometimes but I think for the most part alot of the premier guys have heart, because you have to have some heart and work ethic to be one of the best players in the NBA

Thats a good idea. The Bobcats have plenty of athleticism in Wallace and Felton, and should have a solid frontcourt if the guys can stay healthy. A 3-pt specialist would open things up for everybody else. And Redick has shown over the last 2 years that he can do more than just shoot 3's.

Redick wouldn't be the go-to guy on the Bobcats. Just don't give the wigger the ball at the end of games; problem solved.

How is PJ Tucker in the second round in that mock draft?

I'm not asking this knowing the answer or in sarcasm, I'm just surprised that he's projected so low after how strongly he was praised this past season. Also has he signed with an agent?

Morrison may be over rated, but it's undenyable that the guy has character and passion. He is obviously one of the best in the draft (weak year). he'll be good for the team as a solid role player. Also, i think the organization and city of charlotte can really get excited about this guy. The hype of Morrison will boost the attendence and fan base (more likely than not). Only concern, is his ability to be a true TEAM player, and he needs to prove he can be resilliant after his let down in the NCAA's.

I mean you seriously had rather have him than Roy?

just a mock draft I did for shits & giggles, I assumed no trades

1. Toronto - Tyrus Thomas, F, LSU
He has the highest upside of any of the potential draft picks - can develop a shot and be a good perimeter player, or become a more explosive driver/post player a la Shawn Marion

2. Chicago (from New York) - Brandon Roy, SG, Washington
This is a matter of choosing the best player available, and worrying about fitting him into the rotation later

3. Charlotte - Adam Morrison, SF, Gonzaga
They don't exactly NEED Morrison, but the lack of a gifted scorer has cost them about 10-13 games in their first seasons

4. Portland - Andrea Bargnani, PF, Italy
Considered to be the best foreign player in this draft, he will come in and make an impact playing 14-21 minutes a game

5. Atlanta - Marcus Williams, PG, UConn
ATL passed up on Chris Paul last season, they will not skip the best point guard in the draft again despite talent like Carney and Gay still being available

6. Minnesota - Rodney Carney, SF, Memphis
With Kevin Garnett rumored to be leaving Minnesota (again), he would be a good player to build around, either as the new "man in town" or as a second option to KG.

7. Boston - Rudy Gay, SF, UConn
If Gay slips this far, expect Boston to snatch him up, pair him with Paul Pierce, and make a serious run at the playoffs

8. Houston - LaMarcus Aldridge, PF, Texas
Houston could look to move Stromile Swift after an up-and-down year, he could provide the best help for Yao down low

9. Golden State - Shelden Williams, PF, Duke
The Warriors need more toughness in the post, so adding Williams will give tough Ike Diogu some help on the defensive glass. Williams would allow for some interesting mixes with other bigs Diogu, Mike Dunleavy, and Troy Murphy

10. Seattle - Cedric Simmons, PF, NC State
The Sonics need big bodies down low, and while Randy Foye would make for a good selection here also, Simmons' long wingspan and abilities near the basket will benefit the team much more than another PG will

11. Orlando - Ronnie Brewer, SG, Arkansas
The Magic should just give up on Grant Hill and look toward the future. He's aging and injury-prone. Plugging Trevor Ariza into the SF spot and adding Brewer will help the team move forward in '06

12. New Orleans - Hilton Armstrong, C, UConn
The Hornets have a good young nucleus of Paul, JR Smith, David West, and Desmond Mason. The missing link is at center, and Armstrong is a big guy who can run the floor, a requirement in Byron Scott's offense. If anyone can motivate him to get fired up, it's Scott

13. Philadelphia - Mardy Collins, G, Temple
Drafting him will allow Iguodala to move to SF, and Iverson will be able to run the floor and play SG at times. A talented 4-year college player who will do well at the next level

14. Utah - Patrick O'Bryant, C, Bradley
An upgrade over Greg Ostertag and Jarron Collins, he will get minutes early in Utah's system out of pure need if anything else

15. New Orleans (from Milwaukee) - Maurice Ager, G, Michigan State
Could learn to play either guard position in the NBA, great wing player who finishes well and can shoot the rock well

16. Chicago - Aaron Gray, C, Pittsburgh
Chicago is loaded with guards, and will need another big man to help Chandler and Sweetney down low. Gray is the best option with this pick

17. Indiana - Randy Foye, PG, Villanova
For the second year in a row, a gifted player at a needed position slips to the Pacers. Adding him to the lineup with O'Neal, Jackson, Peja, and Granger will make them a running team in the East

18. Washington - Shawne Williams, SF, Memphis
Washington goes 2-deep at every position except SF, adding Williams solves that problem

19. Sacramento - JJ Redick, SG, Duke
Adding Redick will give them their replacement for Peja Stojakovic as a shooter, and just as much a defensive liability

20. New York (from Denver through Toronto and New Jersey) - Saer Sene, C, Senegal
The Knicks need more large bodies than they do guards, and Sene has the most potential of all the true bigs left

21. Phoenix (from L.A. Lakers through Atlanta and Boston) - Dee Brown, PG, Illinois
Barbosa could possibly bolt in free agency; adding Brown will give them a speedy PG to eventually take over for Steve Nash

22. New Jersey (from L.A. Clippers through Denver and Orlando) - Jordan Farmar, PG, UCLA
Kidd is getting old, and they have no one lined up to replace him. This would be a dream-come-true situation for Farmar as well

23. New Jersey - Marco Killingsworth, PF, Indiana
A wide body to bang down low, will allow Krstic to play center and move the other Collins twin to the bench, a role for which he is better suited

24. Memphis - Paul Davis, C, Michigan State
At 6'11" 260, he's a solid four-year collegiate player who runs well and will help them at a position that actually isn't flooded on this team.

25. Cleveland - Daniel Gibson, PG, Texas
If he gets to learn from Eric Snow for even one year, he'll be a good PG for them. Damon Jones isn't the answer, and Gibson has pretty good leadership skills.

26. L.A. Lakers (from Miami) - Rajon Rondo, PG, Kentucky
He won't need to shoot it much - Kobe Bryant will take care of that - but despite having a down year this past season, could develop into a solid Eric Snow-type PG.

27. Phoenix - Marcus Vincius, SF, Brazil
The Suns wouldn't pass up the chance to take a good big man, but Vincius fits in best with their current system

28. Dallas - Rudy Fernandez, SG, Spain
Fernandez is a better shooter than everyone on their roster between 6'5-6'8; could be a good spark off the bench for 13-18 minutes per game.

29. New York (from San Antonio) - PJ Tucker, SF, Texas
A tough defensive player who can also play the 2, he hits the boards hard and will give the Knicks more of an edge on the perimeter

30. Portland (from Detroit through Utah) - Richard Roby, SG, Colorado
Great shooter, will allow Martell Webster to play the 3, and brings more size to the SG position than Juan Dixon and Steve Blake.

Harrington is a free agent... There were already doubts about whether they wanted to re-sign him for the money he will command in this weak free agent class.

I'd say this info about Shelden (if true) pretty much means they won't be attempting to re-sign Harrington.

^^ I said that to say, they already have an in-house solution at PF. They have NOTHING at PG (Joe Johnson averaged 89 turnovers a game, don't wanna hear it) and Marcus Williams will, in all likelihood, slip to them.

If they NBA was a 3-on-3 league, the Hawks would stomp ass due to all the SG/SF/PF on their roster.

Simmons could be moving up the draft board per ESPN:

We reported already that the Celtics have a big workout going on today in Boston, with Marcus Williams, Rajon Rondo, Randy Foye and Jordan Farmar. Here's another little twist. North Carolina State big man Cedric Simmons is also coming to the workout for his second audition with the Celtics. No one's sure which way Boston GM Danny Ainge is leaning.

Ainge and a 76ers source told me there was no substance to the rumor that the Celtics were in major trade talks with the 76ers and Jazz in a deal that would send Carlos Boozer to Philly, Wally Szczerbiak to the Jazz and either Allen Iverson or, more likely, Samuel Dalembert to Boston. The 76ers source said that the deal had never even been discussed.

Chances are a top player -- someone like Rudy Gay -- is going to slip to No. 7. But the Celtics want to make the playoffs this year and a rookie is the last thing that they need. They might be better off packaging the pick and moving down or out of the draft altogether.

Or maybe they stand pat. We've been saying for weeks that a point guard is the likely target, but I'm not sure anymore.

Simmons would give the Celtics a long, athletic rebounder and shot-blocker, something they currently don't have. I think if they keep the pick, it could be Simmons.

this draft should be very very interesting

i mean hell theres no telling who the 1st pick is gonna be or if toronto will trade it, etc

there are no lebrons in the draft that are clear cut guys...and there could be some big trades go down as well, ie Allen Iverson to Boston?

last year the ACC had 9 guys drafted, 7 in the first round, 2 in the second

M-Wiliams, R-Felton, R-McCants, S-May, C-Paul, J-Hodge, J-Jack, V-Wafer, D-Ewing

State should have a 1st round pick for the 2nd straight year in Simmons! always good for the program

^^ God Atlanta sucks ass. I mean they could have traded their pick for a lower one and still got SheWill if they really wanted him. Fucking no PG again. What a waste of a franchise.

Also what happens if some other team has a massive brain fart and drafts SheWill ahead of the Hawks. Does his contract with the Hawks become null and void? I know that won't happen - just wondering what would happen if it did.

Pretty sure the deal is official.. I dont get it either.. Telfair for the number 7 AND a player to be named later.. unless they're dumping a bad contract on the Blazers i dont understand it.. good trade for Blazers.. way to go Danny Ainge
