I'm not saying that this is the case, but I could see it.

Not many people understand how many Iraqi combatants, for example, we killed in the first Gulf War (actually, nobody really knows, but the guesses range from 50k to 250k), or that Iraq had like the world's 4th or 5th (can't remember) largest military at the time. The media doesn't always do a good job of telling the whole story, particularly in conveying the scale of things.

for example, i don't think any of us who haven't been there have a good idea at all of what things are really like day to day, regardless of how much we see on the news.

Body counts are always hard as hell to get right. It's quite possible many more people have been killed than that website records.

yeah, and when people have something reasonably intelligent to say, i'll discuss the points of their argument.
