Smoker is correct, we had maximus, juggernaut et al who cut-and-pasted incessantly, and the policy at the time was to get rid of them, as it wasn't really a enlightened discussion, rather a hateful cut-and-paste that dragged the soapbox down with it.

seriously, i have no sympathy whatsoever for those of you that (1) are far more disruptive than [user]salisburyboy, and (2) aggravate the salisbury issue by trolling him, constantly bumping/keeping his threads at the top, etc.

If you (collectively) will stop being a greater problem, and it turns out that salisbury really is a problem even when he's simply ignored unless you want to make a legitimate post in his thread disagreeing with him, THEN i will do something about salisbury. as it stands now, HE is not the problem.asdf

if you find me a thread where he's BTTTing it over and over with no responses...first of all, i'll be impressed, because I can't imagine that a half dozen of you fucking crybabies let that many BTTTs come and go without fucking with him. Second, if that's the case, it's probably already far away from the top of the forum where it doesn't matter anyway, and if he BTTTs it yet again, the trend is obviously that it quickly falls out of the way.

You're rubbing salt into your own wounds by continuing to concern yourself with him. Just let him post his one thread per week, and if you don't like it, don't click on it. If you tear into his argument and he doesn't respond, who fucking cares? All but a couple of other loons who are reading it know that you got him whether or not he responds. If you don't aggravate the situation, he will only have a thread or two anywhere near the top at any given time, and I don't think it's too much to ask to simply ignore them if you don't like them. If a thread of his is at the top, that means that either (1) someone besides salisburyboy had something to say in it, which means that there's no reason for me to lock it, or (2) it's headed to the bottom on its own--again, with no need for my intervention.



^it wasn't the Salisbury referendum. I'm not going to change my mind on that unless a majority wants me to just moderate the dog shit out of everything, in which case I'll apply the same slash & burn approach to salisbury.

What's it gonna be? At first, it was because he was a chronic thread hijacker and thread-bomber. That's taken care of, but people still aren't satisfied. Now it's that he's an anti-semite, speaks out venemously against the gov't (paraphrase of woodfoot), and is a general embarassment to the forum.

Well, I can take care of those things too, but it will be a destructive and painful surgery if we go on a witch-hunt against anyone who harbors hate towards a certain group or who posts stupid things.

i'm just saying that you want him gone, and you're rationalizing it with X, Y, and Z, and if I get rid of him on those grounds, what will have to logically follow is going to be ugly. Duke, I only come around every so often because of all the shit threads that are related to salisburb boy (wether parodies, hate mail, whatever) so my vote may not count. I HAVE noticed that his agreement with you allows me to easily ignore him; And yes, he will go away if you ignore him. Anyone that wants to see proof of this can pm me and Ill send you all three pms of our conversation. It ends with me not replying to his bullshit. He will continue his mindless chatter for as long as you pay him attention.
