I am a fan of democracy, and installing the most responsible, accountible, efficient government system possible. There is no constant for what is the best system. With time, old systems become worse, and new systems become better.

The economy can be looked at a similar way. Technology will pave the way for new economic structures entirely unexplored so far.

I intend to be at the forefront of implementing the newest, most progressive, sensible policies people invent. Science will pave the way.

I am not so conceited that if everything I wanted were ever implemented, that the way things would be is the best way they could ever be. I consider that mindset dangerous.

So I guess I'm a freedom hating liberal.

it's too hard to classify myself

I hate big government... esp feds, I'm ok with local level govt to a point

I'm pretty moderate/left leaning on social issues, mostly because I don't give a fuck what gay people do, or what a woman does to her body (as long as it isn't my child), and I believe people have the right to do whatever substances or drugs they choose as long as they know the dangers and stay out of the way of myself and my family while doing it

I'm for rights for the people

I'm tired of being taxed multiple times for the same thing and I don't like paying to support everyone else

everyone has the power to fix their situation one way or another, it is not my responsibility to make sure your 25 kids have a hot plate

I don't mind taxes so much as I hate the lack of fiscal accountability, I hate politicians getting their hands on and personally directing funds you are forced to give. I wish the government were held accountable for tax dollars and where they go when you are forced to give them money

I wish the govt would fix the judicial system and the law enforcement community

I wish they would do more to protect the enviroment so that my kids and their kids can enjoy it when they are older (this is the outdoorsman in me talking) It pains me to know that of all the money I spend each year to hunt and fish most of it will not help protect or defend habitats for people to enjoy. Privately, sportsmen and outdoorsman do more for the enviroment than politicians ever do. thankfully the government is installing programs such as CRP and CP33 to help protect vanishing populations of wildlife in rural areas to help take the burden off of the landowner and to promote conservation of wildlife, fisheries, and waterways

I'll stop here before I begin ranting even more

Make tax day a day or two before election day, and get rid of direct deposit so people can make a more explicit connection between their lost $$ and government waste. That would help with the incumbent stagnation problem.

It's so funny that you mention that. It's highly recommended at my DOT job, and it's now MANDATORY at my NCSU Bookstores job (which is basically state-run).

They're just hoping you don't notice that your money goes missing.

I am a quasi-libertarian.

I'm missing something here, I meant congress, the president gets 8 years and no more, congress has no such limits to my knowledge. And yeah the congress is the real problem.

Democracy by the smart, over the dumb. Did I not mention that the first time around?

Hmm, I didn't. Sorry about the confusion.

I took two political/moral quizzes and they classified me as near the center, but basically a democrat, or a social libertarian/authoritarian. It's weird b/c personal opinion differs from some of the compromises I believe are best for the overall good of society.

And either of them as a culling factor for government would fit the description of an oligarchy!

You should work on being right before you work on being smug.

Thinking that systems change and can become better or worse is stupid. Human incentives are the same, and will always be the same. Any economic or social policy that ignores that, is going to fail. Those that integrate it will flourish.

im bumping this thread just to read through it and to put in my own input since i was gone

i would classify myself as a conservative, leaning to the right. i admire reagan and wish we could return to his ideals. i hope that someday we can rid ourselves of this liberal disease.

dissenting parties exterminated? nice try there, trying to paint me as an extremist. its not democrats per say that are damaging america, its the liberals who show compassion and interest to marxists and other statists and morally corrupt groups who need to be moved into the outer fringes of american society.

If you want them to shut up and let you kill people, rape women, and steal then your answer is no.
