Resurrecting this -- ate at Serena's for the first time today. Excellent food, great modern atmosphere, and cheap to boot. I went about 11:45 and it was dead compared to a lot of other RTP places. Only bad thing is parking is a bitch around there.

Jamaica Jamiaca is really good, it's in the big lots shopping center on the corner of 55 and 54. Akashi has the best sushi in the triangle IMO. Spice and Curry is also good for Indian, and I usually go to Park Diner if i can't decide what i want. And Benetis (used to be Benedict's) has really good breakfast all day. And Danny's beats the hell out of AW.[Edited on August 24, 2006 at 4:26 PM. Reason : AW]

Jump'n JavaIt's a little coffee house with a good variety of lunch items - quiche, sandwiches/panini, pastry, curry rice, salad, etc - in the shopping center at the corner of Alexander and Miami. The owners are super friendly and are always there - it provides for a nice (and quiet!) atmosphere if that's what you're looking for.
