unless the o2m is geared significantly shorter than my transmission i'm quite positive it will exceed 230 kph. & i bet he didn't actually say it would do 230 mph, i hope not anyway.

uhh you just named some random intake and exhaust housings. a gt28r was probably chosen because the motor can't handle much more power. a gt28 is a TINY turbo, espcially on a 6cyl >2L block

A Jetta can't do 230 mph... not unless you have 600+ hp, but in that case, it will become undriveable because of inadequate aerodynamics.

Even this Jetta can't reach 200 mph, what to talk of 230 mph:

well, a 300 whp M3 is a much cooler machine than a 300 whp Jetta. far superior chassis, RWD, and just nicer all around (not to mention better looking, etc).


but 300 whp still really ain't shit. that's about what my car makes, and it weighs hundreds of pounds less than either an M3 or a Jetta, and it's still not really that fast...it's more like "what an S2000 should've been from the factory."

My VW M3 has 300whp and a gt28rs.... it has variable displacement 3.2,3.0 and 1.8 liters and can easly top 240mph with 700 hp (i think i need 2 gt28rs turbos to do that though :beatup
and the mother fucker has 4motion.

ahahahahahahahahahahahahaa--- So apparently Kevin "Stock?" decided to cus out my g/f because he saw this thread (that she had nothing to do with) and clarified his previous statement of the jetta doing 230mph......

The real statement was that "the gear ratio will 'allow' it to go 230mph" not that it will do that in the real world.

In otherwords, he was talking to a bunch of guys who know nothing about cars, wanted to sound super cool, and said it would do 230mph not thinking it would ever be mentioned again.

so, sorry for the call out buddy- u have a nice car- but there are a shit ton out there and here on TWW that are a fuck of a lot nicer, faster, and owned by people who worked for them. And if your car is "the fastest jetta in NC" as you said then I bet there may be some people on here that would love to test it
