genocide isnt political so i may have misworded my intent

conspiracy theories on 9/11 are liberal though

also its quite ironic that liberals run most of the universities in the country...and have no problems charging their tuitions and fees...and then complain about how expensive schools are

Dentaldamn doesnt get angry over genocide apparently

^^ ha the genocide comment was fucked up because i was looking at the arrows like a dope.

and Liberals dont own the universities and colleges. They are owned by the government or fuckers who want money.

There is a major difference between a private group running off of donations being upset that professors don't mimic their viewpoints and a government push to remove "secularism" and "liberalism" from the educational system.

^a dream...a good one nonetheless, but a dream

academic fairness should be important to all students. too often it has been shown that the liberal side of stories only get pushed in class. literature classes (no matter how useless) should not just be reading works by and about homosexuals, feminists, "civil rights supporters", and globalists. sociology is an entire discipline which places great emphasis on the corrupt ideas and morals of one of the most deadly men ever, marx, whose ideas brought on an entire age of oppression for some and continue to be a hindrance to people the world over.

would i push for what the hitler of our time is doing? not to this extreme, no, but there does need to be MUCH more accountability. bring back the judeo-christian perspective our contry was built on and stop pushing humanism and the ideas of the left!

Except that is totally contradictory to the whole religious freedom idea that is the foundation of this country. It's irrelivent that our founding fathers were Christian. You can even say that the majority of people in this country are Christians, that doesn't mean that everyone else has to tow the line because of that.

Who is supporting freedom more, a group who promotes personal spiritual exploration or the group who tells you to pick up the cross and follow them because everyone else is doing it?

Calvinism is probably more rational (though less kind) than other schools of Christian thought. I guess if logical consistency with your surroundings is a cross to bear, then sure.

inspired post from another thread but it's in the same vein...

crap, i wish i could remember the name of this book I had for my seminar on the 1960's in america....

it was really good, explained how the SDS and other socialist/communist people were pretty much forced out of the general workforce, and could only find decent jobs in the education system. then they, like everyone pretty much, tended to hire folks who think like them. thus starting the whole 'liberalization' of the education system in this country....

funny part is the teaching methods that are the newest 'liberal' inventions ("disscussions" with kids rather than punishments and such other idle BS) really have done nothing but fuck up schools even more the last 30 years....

old-school teaching methods tend to be the best for the most # of students, those that don't learn that way should just be grouped together based on how they learn and then the old methods should be adapted to teach them in their particular way.

but anyways, there is a liberal 'bias' in the public university system, you can see it in the history department most apparently.

the liberal slant is undeniable though.

i wish i could remember the title of that book though.....

the problem with liberal punishment mothods is that they focus way too much on students being indivdually good people wanting to learn. When in reality most have no desire to learn and just need to be beat.

also how many social conservatives actually go to school to be professors in history, poli sci, or any other humanities concentration. Most conservatives I know think humanities are easy and for lame asses and gays. This creates a situation where conservatives complain about a liberal teaching system yet have no desire to become teachers themselves.

also,my ps teachers have all be very liberal individuals but the best ones Ive had have not expressed their beliefs during the courses material and only during open discussion outside of it.

oh and by liberal slant what do you mean? Do they openly attack conserative historic figures in class? I havent taken a modern history class at State.

^^as a senior in history, i cant say ive had a professor that has attacked a conservative historical figure myself. they're CRITICAL of pretty much every historical figure, as they should be. i've had us history professors who were both critical of the black panthers and reagan, of marx and adam smith, of pinochet and castro. i mean, maybe if you're so far on the right that you think a prof. saying "i'd like to think that the UN could be a very useful organization" is showing bias, then yeah, but thats really your own problem. i've had professors say that they have specific political views, but they do a good job of keeping it out of the discussion.

i mean, if someone can give a good example of someone openly attacking a historical figure and calling them wrong or foolish and thus pushing one political ideology, or even being overly critical of one side over another without prefacing it with "but thats just my personal opinion, please read for yourself and draw your own conclusions", then i'll change my opinion of the dept. as a whole. from my experiences, all are open to criticism in historical discussion.
