last year at the RBC center we had much crappier seats than we usually get for real games due to the general admission..

im just gonna show up at 6 and study for a test i have for an hour

they'll both sit out the entire season and ferguson will be eligible to play in december

i tried to be as optimistc as i could before the game tonight, but after watching one half of it, jesus christ..............

you gotta remember before you say we're awful, the starters weren't playing together or anything. i mean hell, braxton albritton played. fells and grant can't run like they want when a slow ass white kid runs the point. there was some good stuff tonight and some bad. seemed pretty cold from outside, for damn sure

yeah Lewondowski was pretty horrible. At first it was all like that kid is freakishly tall.. i mean courtney fells came up to his chin maybe.

but after watching him "play" i feel confident he only plays basketball because he's like 7' 3"

trevor was a transfer, so he has to sit out a year. He transferred like Spring 06 (after or during the fall semester last year, but classified as spring) and so his "year" is up after this semester ends

Worst Performance :

Brandon Costner- This kid is a total ball hog who shoots anything he sees...Launched one from between the 3pt line and halfcourt with a man in his face...Looks extremely sluggish and uninterested in hustling

Best Performance :

Farnold Degand - I love the way he plays...He sees the court really well, he plays scrappy, and he seems to always know where his teammates are...Had a bunch of nice assists off good looking drives to the hole.

Honorable Mention: The ladies basketball team for shooting absolute LIGHTS OUT...those girls look good...even with 5 freshman playing in that game.

Costner just looks frustrated, but I dont know whatthe fuck is wrong with him.


Fells is the best player on the floor. Degand is a natural point guard, only needs to work on finishing, although I didnt see him shoot outside much.


Gavin's ball handling improved but he still makes stupid mistakes.

McCauley is good.

Ferguson is very white.

you guys all suck. i was there and it wasnt great or anything but to hear you guys tell it....

all i'm saying is we won't finish 12th and thats for damn sure.


We could be good. Herb was a great defensive coach. I don't know about playing man. hopefully sid will play alot of zone or get the job done with man. If we can play good d and keep teams in the 60s and 70s I think we will at hte worst be a decent bubble team come years end.

furgey, costner and we all know grant will be matchup problems for everyone. 21 is 7'3. being 7'3 in college basketball makes you somewhat of an asset. the kid has a midrange jumper too. he's not that bad. he will develop into a pretty decent player before he graduates.

it was my undserstanding that, and i heard this from some random guy so i put no faith in this just passing it along, the red team was our starting lineup and with atsur injured braxton will be starting pg, no true merit in this guy but thats what he was saying

degand can boogie, he will be a very solid acc pg

mccauley looked to have some good inside skills

fells and grant are pretty much gonna have to carry this team, gonna be a long season

i predicted to a friend that braxton would come in and surprisingly salvage the team, thus completing the ascension of heroic broughton figures to nc state athletics. but then the football team stumbled, and now i dont have quite as much hope in the performance if braxton does come in.

the bad
-we dont have a true center and it looks like we are going to be out rebounded alot this year.

-we have alot of really young potential that has yet to really show its truth. if the team can come together it would be nice.

-Once again no established leader on the court, Gavin did his same on and off leadership.

-the kids dont seem to know their roles and are swapped out alot at numerous positions.

-the polish kid...hes rough, small framed and goofy, who woulda figured right? but he seems to hustle hard and has good fundamentals, the staff keep applauding him anytime he WENT BIG and tried to muscle...hes workin on it.

-free throws

the good
-Coach by committee. We have a TON of experienced guys there to help Lowe out if a situation arises.

-tradition. they seem to be bringing back the old school shoes, floor in the RBC and maybeeeee i heard the old STATE jerseys

-the offense. Thank God we got out of the Princeton style...let our athletes finally play. I love how we finally try and get it down low first then work our way out to settle for a good shot.

-Trevor Ferguson...Fergie can flat out shoot the ball, and hes a good leader, really gets into Gavins head. Hes got some good moves for a white kid and looks to be a decent leader.

-Fells...simply put, he had Herb last year...finally hes letting loose.

-Degand. What CANT i say about this kid....hes FAST and really good at dribble drive dish...he knows how to run the point and has potential to be REALLY REALLY good...kid knows his stuff, now we just need to muscle him up a little.

-Youth. I say that given 2 years this team will be one of the best in the ACC, especially if we get a dominate big man.


Overall i give us a C+ or B-. we have good potential and are really young, we have some raw players that need developing and a coaching staff that can get them there. I like where the program is headed and I got chills tonight when Lowe entered the arena. that was incredible.

so in conclusion, go to hell Carolina and GO PACK!

Brandon Costner does always seem like he is in a gear lower than everybody else, but I think one of his most unrecognised qualities is rebounding. I did not see him tonight, but he was one the leading rebounders in all of his all star games, plus he is heavy and can move around in the post.

Yes, he is trigger happy, but how does this fit with Lowe? any comments on how costner will be used?
basically, Costner and Horner are kind of key for next season, we need costner to help with the post and horner to give a lift off of the bench. Bad production out of these guys can really hurt us.

grant is already unstopable we know that from the end of last year thats given.

last year we relied on bennerman and bethel doing alot of the work and alot of lobbing threes. this year we have 4 guys who are big,physical shooters that can also drive. then throw in atsur who is a great shooter. most of these guys can defend.

that right there guarantees we won't be last place

totally agree, however, I really enjoyed watching them play tonight, even though there were lots of mistakes. I loved the fact that their sets moved towards the basket and not towards midcourt.

You dont need a true center to rebound. You need to box out and crash the boards. Fells, Grant, and Costner are more than capable of doing this if McCauley can hold his ground. We'll be fine especially offensively if we're not shooting and running down the floor as soon as the ball is released.

im confused....were you people at the game? because i dont agree with all this ferguson praising.
okay he wasnt horrible and i DO think he has a lot of potential
but i sure didnt see it tonight
he travelled or carried the ball about 4 times in the first half
(ok maybe the 2nd half was better? i had to leave at the intermission so i appologize if the 2nd half was different...this is based on what i saw the first "half")
and Mr. 7'3" airballed i believe 5 shots from less than 5' from the basket

i agree that costner didnt seem to be with it but im hoping that everything that was wrong tonight was because our 9th and 10th men that will never get PT in the reg season were playing with the starters and throwing things out of whack

grant, fells and degand all looked good and should be exciting to watch

I think that by NEXT season this team will be back in the NCAA tournament come march
