^ I was just about to say that. Someone told me they recorded those drums in a stairwell to get that sound. 10/24/2006 12:14:09 PM |

That's a common misconception.
They actually used a stairwell modeling plugin in ProTools. 10/24/2006 12:50:25 PM |

gg on the Stewart Copeland, it has taken me years to finally appreciate how good that band was. Sting's just fucked up their legacy for too long now by continuously putting out shit. 10/24/2006 2:38:26 PM |

the answer is: ¨who is Danny Carey in 46&2?¨
and i dont know anything about, nor can i play, the drums...but i know what it sounds like when a kit gets completely fucking owned...
this an opinion thread, that means NO right or wrong answers....so i win. 10/24/2006 4:50:34 PM |

first, sting didn't put out shit. you take that back.
second, danny carey gets on my nerves. i mean i guess it's impressive that the dude can play in 194/127 time signature but it gets a little old. plus his drums often sound like a large man smacking his own belly.

can't figure out if vinylbandit (and I) didn't realize that I had posted "Sunday, Bloody Sunday" on the first page or not. anyway, I really like this thread and am curious what people are liking these days.
to recap the OP:

Quote : | " not to imply this is the BEST drumming in a rock song. but it's the drumming that makes these songs." |
